This is a thread for any and all WW users to get to know each other. To talk about their days or weeks. Whether it's plan-related or not. Just a comfy area to chat about things in general. Grab a chair, pick up a cup of hot tea or coffee and relax with everyone!
I noticed it'd been a while since a general weekly chat had been posted, and thought it'd be lovely to start one up. Please join in at any time
All Purpose History: I'm Lovely. I've been a member of WW since April 2007. Been through several versions of Points plans, and the latest variation of PointsPlus. Have a husband, and live in a cozy apartment in the North East of the USA.
In general, I'm aiming to lose over 130 pounds total, but I've been trying to focus on the habits for the best longterm results. Some days are better than others, of course, but it's all about the attitude and the small choices added up.

Last week, I had my brother and his fiancée visit. They're good people! But, they'd left me with half a cheesecake ; ;. Wonderful news this morning is that my husband ate the rest of it over this weekend. The packaging is in the trash. No more temptation from dessert.
This week, my husband might be heading out of town for business. These are always my toughest times. It's not set in stone, yet, but I'm gearing myself up for a lot of "No!'s" No to junk food. No to overeating. No to take-out. I don't need that stuff in me.
Lately, I've been seriously considering investing in a coffee-maker. Okay, I've been considering it for years. I don't know where I'd put it. But, some mornings I love the idea of coffee being freshly brewed when I wake up.
Awww I missed those chit chat thread! Great idea, Lovely!
Introduction : I'm TurboMammoth or Manon, if you prefer a non-prehistoric name , I'm 25 years old, I'm a french Canadian from a towm in the Eastern Township of South Province of Quebec. Lovely, good thing for the cheesecake being gone! For your coffee thing, are you just looking for the thing to brew the coffee or for the big thing that can make latte and cappuccino and everything? Personnaly, the bf is a coffee freak and we own a coffee brewer and just for the smell of the fresh brewed coffee, it totally worth it.
I'm totally having a skinny day today. Like I feel slim. I just looove those LOL. I feel like I could take on the work!
On a totally other subject yesterday, I discored that there was another person in the house who loved my new gorgeous feathers hearing. My cat is freaking out about them, he stole one yesterday and we had to look for it for like 30 minutes. Freakin cat LOL
Hi girls!!! I'm Chele615 (or you can just call me Chele...most people do). I am 32 years old and teach high school special education. I work mainly with kids with learning disabilities....I'm known as the math person on our team LOL
I joined WW last January through a Weight Watchers at Work program. When the program ended, I joined the local meeting with one of my coworkers and we go every Saturday. I have lost 32 pounds on WW since last year and had lost 50 pounds on my own prior to that.
I'm from Massachusetts...so another northeast person

Lovely ~ Yay for the cheesecake finally being gone!!! I think desserts and other non-already portioned out sweets are my downfall, so I definitely understand! A full bowl of M&M's is the devil
Turbo ~ Skinny days are the best!! I love that feeling of being slim.
So, we are all born and bred Boston sports fans in my house and yesterday was another typical Patriots game day spread. I definitely overdid it and was up like 3 pounds this morning, but this afternoon when I got back home from the gym, I was already down below the high weight this morning...so that's good. It's been a low point day so far to try to make up a bit from yesterday's overindulgence. But the Pats are in the Super Bowl, so that's all that matters LOL
Hi! I'm Jill, I'm 30 years old and a librarian in Northeast Ohio. I live with my two cats, Chloe and Linus, and also do a lot of writing (my bachelors degree is in creative writing ) I did WW in the summer/fall of 2003, and again in the summer/fall of 2005. But then I started up again with PointsPlus in January 2011 and LOVE IT!!

Lovely: My coffee maker is my favorite thing For Christmas, all I wanted was a Keurig -- one of the single cup coffee makers and it is awesome! I love that each morning I can have a different flavor without having to keep multiple bags of coffee in my apartment.
Turbo: Skinny days really are the best. I had one on Saturday. It was amazing.
Chele: My best friend is a HUGE Patriots fan! She actually lives in Pittsburgh, but her family is from the Boston area originally so it's in her blood, haha
It's only Monday and I am so ready for the week to be over! Blah. I had a bunch of family stuff Thursday night, Friday night, AND Saturday night, so I felt like I didn't get much of a weekend, there was so much running around. I have yoga tomorrow morning at 6am and my favorite part about Tuesdays is after yoga, on my way into work, I get a nonfat sugar free latte. It's silly how something so simple is just the perfect start to my morning!
Hi, ladies.. girlsenberry , here. (or Alaina, laina, or lainy) Thirty-four year old, mom of 6, from Oregon. Was a student, but the need for work has surpassed the need to finish my last four classes. I'll get that AA eventually! Been doing WW for 1.5 years, and have lost roughly 47 of 77 lbs I want gone- admittedly it's come off a lot slower on PP vs. Momentum, but I feel the slower it comes off, the better I learn true portion control.
Haven't been around 3FC in a little while, still doing the program, but I've been playing around with calorie-counting (at myfitnesspal) the last few weeks (I'm waiting for my WW membership to kick in- another week, or so!), and it's been making a HUGE difference. I know you're not *supposed* to count calories when WW'ing, but I got so dang tired of the plateaus. I've noticed the days I happen to eat SUPER high calories, even when under/ at my PP limit, I definitely plateau- even gain weight.. but when I stick to my calorie "budget", I consistantly lose. There's got to be something to that??
~~~
Lovely, have you thought about getting a french press? They're fairly inexpensive, don't take up much space, and I personally think it's makes better tasting coffee. You just have to boil the water in a pot. Re: the cheesecake- don't you love that?? (/sarcasm). I always end up with a half sheetcake of leftovers at birthday parties, because I have a gaggle of kids, but I'm the only one that ever wants to snack on it.
Turbo, I love those "thin" days! I get them more often lately, especially when I'm exercising because I can move so easily now. My problem is looking in the mirror, or pictures, and not seeing what I'm feeling. :\
Girlsenberry ~ I also count calories over at myfitnesspal. I started off originally counting calories and have been using MPF for years...so it's second nature to me really to go over there and track everything. It actually makes it easier to WW track as well since I have everything already written down if I forget something!
Whew, I'm glad I'm not the only one. Do you find weight loss easier if you do both, too? I've got the tracker set up to not only count calories, but protein, carbs, total fat, and fiber so that I can just input the info into my PP tracker (I track PP at home on an excel spreadsheet). It's definitely made it a lot easier rather than Googling everything I eat. I can't wait until my WW mmbrship is active, then I can just track online there- I'm hoping it's as easy as myfitnesspal.
Online tracking for WW is actually really easy too....it pretty much does all the work for you! I also have my settings for the WW things so that I can use it to calculate points for things that don't pop up already on the WW tracker.
The easier it is, the better chance of sticking with it, right? hehe
Hi I'm ang. I live in GA and this is my 2nd time with WW. The first time was several years ago and I didn't stick with it long enough for it to really help. I was young and impatient and opted for the quick fix diet pills - which were great until I stopped taking them & had done nothing to change my lifestyle.
So this time around it's about doing it the "right" way and the healthy way. It's slower and a lot of hard work compared to popping a pill every morning but it's way more satisfying and rewarding. I know when those pounds come off I earned them!
Lovely - your cheesecake issue reminds me of my Christmas cookie delimma - I made way too many for gifts and they were just sitting there taunting me. I just has to throw them in the trash. I usually have good will power but that many cookies - it was dangerous.
Turbo - Today was my skinny day. :-) I can't wait to have more of these!
Girlsenberry - I'll be visiting your state in April. I'm coming to visit my best friend who moved out there last August. I'm really excited!
Very cool! April will be a better time for sure, we're having a bit of flooding at the moment. What part are you visiting? I'm in Salem.
Good luck with WW, it's been a mostly fulfilling process, learning to eat correctly. Pills scare me cuz I know they can mess with organs. Didn't stop me from trying Hydroxycut like 10 years ago. The things we do when we're desperate, right?
I'm Tara. 32 years old and started WW for the first time in May through an at work program. Didn't think it would work after years of going to the gym and trying to diet with no results. The weight started falling off and today I am 33 pounds lighter. From a size 12/14 to a 6/8. I've never been this size before so it's a whole new world. Looking forward to wearing my first bikini ever this summer. Right now I'm still losing and trying to smooth out my figure with pilates.
Speaking of cheesecake, I just got a Hungry Girl email with a turtle cheesecake recipe. Anyone tried it? I don't know if I can resist!
Name is Shannon! 32 yrs old. Ive been doing PP for 1 year and just surpassed my 1 year anniversary on the program. I have lost 59lbs and going strong. I still remember walking into my first meeting, never thinking in a million years i would have ended up where i am right now. I work as a nurse and have been working in the same hospital for the last 13 years. I have loads of awesome support from all my friends at work. I live with my boyfriend, who is very supportive. He *tries* to follow the plan with me, although he generally eats what he wants he is learning to make better choices.
I totally encourage the purchase of the Keurig coffee machine Lovely, its the greatest thing we have in our kitchen and is used SOOOO very much. We always buy the K-Cups for the Timothy's breakfast blend. You can also take out the coffee cartridge and just run boiling water through it into a cup with a teabag if you want tea. Although, you can also get some good tea's in K-Cups as well (havent found the right orange pekoe for me yet though).
Turbo, awesome for the skinny day! i have those days too where i *feel* lighter. Some days though, i have to admit i feel so big still. I know ive lost a lot so far and look a lot different, i really just dont notice it. All the lumps and bumps are exactly where they were... just a little smoothed out now lol.
Just as a side note, is anyone else just totally obsessed with clothes??? i cant get enough. I cannot even belive that i used to be in a size 3X trying to hide myself away from the world, I had always thought that baggier was better cause then they couldnt see how fat i was, now i can shop in the regular sizes....uhhh size large? WHAT?!.... the other day i went out to dinner with my boyfriend and a friend and i wore a short tight skirt and a tight shirt.... ive never worn a skirt EVER in my life. I shocked myself. I felt a little self concious, but it felt amazing. ive been looking around online at so many clothing places, i just keep bookmarking everything so i can look at it again when ive lost all i want to lose.
Hello friends, I am fatmad: Madeleine is just fine too.
I am new to ww, just joined last week. I have been coming to 3fc for a couple of years now. Lost quite a bit doing atkins, but stalled for a while. My daughter is getting married in June, and I don't wanna be a fat mama in the wedding photos. I have resisted joining ww, because i am pre-diabetic and pretty sensitive to many carbs, esp grains. I also am not a joiner, and am not sure how I will be with meetings. I didn't love my first meeting. I signed up for the monthly pass that also allows me to go online and use all the tools there. The meetings also felt like I was at AA. "Hello, my name is Madeleine and I am fat. " The leader gave out stickers to people who had lost weight. Yuck. I don't need gold stars from the teacher. But like anything, there is good and bad and I will try to take the good. What I have been doing isn't working and this is a healthy alternative.
I like the online plan manager. I tried livestrong and daily plate and found them hard to use, but the ww plan manager seems to be easy so far. I like the points plus and having the veggies free. I am used to lost of veggies from atkins, so that is great. I like being able to have fruit again. I am having a bit of a hard time switching over from atkins, am used to a pretty high fat diet, and its hard to reduce that instantly. I am being really honest with my points, though. I was hungry at bedtime a couple of times in the first week. A big glass of water helped, but I may try a glass of milk at bedtime instead. I had a few plus points at the end of the week.
I read a few bios, and will look forward to hearing about everyone's responses to ww. I am currently away from home, so won't weigh in again until the end of week 2
