Oops!

Way to go, Glen! Are you doing the program on your own, or with a buddy?
Yikes! :oThe "salad lunch" I went to yesterday turned out quite horrible. :moo: It was fun, but I totally went off pts. My veggies were the only low pts item there- but everything sure was yummy! THEN I went to my Grandpa's house for supper-Chinese take-out.:ink: Delicious, but quite super duper high in pts!
I don't feel too bad, though. I haven't had an off-pts day in awhile, and I have three days until weigh in. So it will be low pts, lots of water, and exercise to see if I can keep from gaining!
How has everyone else been this weekend?
It is record breaking cold here- makes it a little hard to go for walks with dd, but I will do it!

2 Weeks To Make It Happen!

Let's all put our "slides" from last week/weekend in the past...and move on!
I went for a 30 minute walk last night- it was cold but worth it! It is still pretty chilly today, but I plan to super bundle the baby up and head out for a good hike!
What will everyone else be doing?

:smug: I forgot to mention- I got my nametag in the mail today, I can now officially work the meetings!!

bandit2 03-03-2003 02:06 PM

Good for you, Saskiemom

Keep up the good work & way to go on the walk!

Tonight I am going to get on my excercise bike, for sure.

tara: i am doing it mostly on my own, but my mother helps me also. i am single so its harder to do it on my own. most stores don't sell small quantities in veggies.

Crast1980 03-04-2003 11:01 AM

Hey everyone. My weekend went well, I am extremely sore today from painting my gramma's bedroom. I thought I had the flu cause my ribs burt when I breathe! Guess I wasn't as ready for all that stretching as I thought. My mother gave me 800 mg of Motrin for the pain. SO, no exercise for a few days, which sucks, but I will be back at 'em soon. Actually, I am going to see if someone has a Yoga tape I can borrow, maybe that will help.
So, my co-worker and I were talking about gardening this summer, and I have decided that sounds like a good idea! I used to have one when I was little, my paretns grew lettuce, tomatoes, peas, peppers. It was great! It will be a lot of work at first, but will be worth it in the end.
Well, that is all the news for now! Weigh in is tomrrow morning, talk to you all then!!

SaskieMom 03-04-2003 11:15 AM

Glen- thats nice that you have help! Being single might be an adantage! I know my dh is more hinderance than help sometimes! Thats too bad about the veggies- are you talking frozen??? I just refreeze mine.
Crast1980- Gardening sounds like a very ambitious idea! Good exercise and good food! Hope WI goes well!!
My WI is tonite also... :crossed: I really hope my crazy day doesn't set me back too much!

Well I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one who went a little over this weekend. I am happy to say that I only went over by 2-3 points. I am also very happy to say that when I went to Burger King with my sisters I did attempt to eat a veggie burger instead of my usual Whopper Junior. But, I'm just not ready for the veggie burger, I guess it's an aquired taste! :) I did however lose 1 lb, it's a little less than I was hoping but as long as I weigh less today than I did yesterday I'm happy!!! I really have to start exercising. I really hate the cold so I really looking forward to a few more weeks when it get above 40 at night so I can walk. I should also go to Sears and get a replacement key for the treadmill. Well, good luck everyone at your WI and good luck for this week. Take care...

SaskieMom 03-05-2003 12:11 AM

Tracy- Congrats on your loss!
I think you are right about veg burgers being an acquired taste. I LOVE them, but didn't at first. BK has an especially good one, McD's is good too.

Had WI tonight- only lost .4#. It is my own fault, due to one severely over-pts day, followed by two under-pts days.
I will do better this week by:
**exercising at least 20 min. for 6 days
**staying inside my 30-35 pt range
**reducing my salt intake (it is WAY too high!)
I need to lose 3.6# in the next 2 weeks to meet my goal. How is everyone else doing with the challenge?

Crast1980 03-07-2003 01:59 PM

Hey ladies. Well, I had an ok week. Was sore until Wednesday from painting Saturday, went to gym Wednesday and felt great, then yesterday I fell on the ice coming into my office from lunch. SO, I am in pain again. Not my week. Have done pretty good eating. Weekends are my downfall, so wish me luck! I weighed in at 190 this week, so I am holding steady. My goal is to be under 190 next week at WI. Gotta stay OP and exercise!!!!

Talk to you all Monday!!!

~Vanessa~

Idealperson 03-07-2003 02:39 PM

After my weigh in last week, I am down 23.6 pounds. I am so close to the 25#, I want it sooo bad! I have just come back from 3 nights away on a business trip and I had to eat at conferences for 2 meals each day. It was so hard, they served alot of pasta, muffins and rolls. I don't own a scale so I will have to wait until my next weigh in to see how it went. Any suggestions for new foods to eat to balance out my week...?

SaskieMom 03-08-2003 04:28 PM

Idealperson- I would go for lots of fruits aand veggies, and lots and lots of water to keep everything moving! Good luck on reaching 25#. I just got my 25# magnet a couple weeks ago, and it was nice!
Everyone must be busy lately, the challenge has been fairly quiet! I hope that means things are going well for everyone!
I have had an ok week. I am really trying hard to stay on track and get exercise in. It has been hard, since it is -44 with the windchill today!
Tonight will be difficult, another meal at my Grandpa's house- always yummy, never healthy! I am going to try hard, though, since I have to be in a wedding 8 weeks from today!!!
Hope you are doing well! Only 9 days left in the challenge!!

hefty1 03-08-2003 05:49 PM

tara: good luck at grampas. don't freeze going there. i lost 1.4 today.

:) glen

Way to go, Glen!
I told dh last night- I am not eating at my Grandpa's again until I hit goal! His wife is too good of a cook, and everything is too high in pts!! I ended up at 3X my pts range- and was still hungry!
Today is a new day, I have already done an exercise video and 100 abs! :)
