Lightbulb Maybe the Motovation I was Seeking!

Yesterday i did the walk for breast cancer. It's the largest walk for breast cancer in the USA. It takes place in Boston and it's a gorgeous 6 mile walk around the Charles River. There were 40,000 of us that walked. Turned out to be a beautiful day!

Lately I've been thinking that ww isn't for me anymore but then i realize, what's the alternative? Getting heavier? No way! I haven't been this weight in almost a year and it doesn't feel good at all.

I've decided to use yesterday's walk as a kick-start to my exercise regimen that i used to be SO dedicated to before my father was sick. I've decided i've had it with this upsetting body of mine and need to make big Winter changes in my life.

My goal is to go to the gym and do weights before work a few mornings a week to start then either walk or do my spin bike in the basement after work. I want to do something that is realistic and can become part of my daily routine without even thinking about it.

I've hit my bottom and it doesn't feel good. To boot, from all my stress and medication my hair is so damaged it had to be cut pretty short, depresses me to see my face this heavy now that my hair is shorter. This also comes from having a GREAT last week to stay the same on the scale which infuriates me in itself!

All the other times I've done WW I always struggled with the very necessary exercise portion. But this time I did just this, found something realstic that I can easily fit into my daily routine. I work 4 10s, so I don't get home until 9:30pm, but Monday - Wednesday I get home and go to the mini gym in my building (Thursdays I go out with friends). I have so much trouble exercising in the morning, but somehow I have no trouble exercising at night. I have no idea why, but since I've come to love this part of my evening I won't change the routine

I also do volunteer work on Friday and as it's only a mile from my apartment I've started walking! Again, something super easy to fit into my routine and the more I walk, the easier it becomes, and I'll walk other places, too. Of course, it's starting to get colder and soon there will be snow and ice (I live at the bottom of a hill, so I"m mostly concerned about the ice), but I'll keep going as long as I can.

As you can see in my picture, I have long hair (it reaches my waist). I would be devestated if I had to cut it, so

I don't do weight watchers but I saw your post and wanted to respond. It looks like you have done well on it so far and we all have our bad weeks. Shoot, I lose on average 2-3lbs/month and normally those only come off in a manner of about one week in the month. The rest of the weeks I maintain or go up!

I think it's great you found some motivation through exercise. I have to say exercise really does help keep me on plan. After lifting weights I don't want to eat back those calories. Plus it helps my mood tremendously. It sounds like you've been having a rough time lately and I know for me exercise is amazing when it comes to releasing stress. Just imagine those weights are all your worries/fears etc and kick their butt.

I wish you the best and I hope things start getting better for you soon.

You've had it pretty rough for a while, Pioneer. I think it's great that you're looking to add in activity in any way that's manageable for you. Whatever you end up doing it is SO good for you

Congratulations on your walk 6 mile walk for a great cause!

And that is so great that you want to start back at exercising and weights. It is a good feeling to get back on track, I can relate to that. Do what you can and as often as you can to fit in exercise and you'll feel better mentally and physically. I'm living proof of that.
