Default Gained again this week..

Up another pound, not sure why as I was on track all week. Thinking maybe I didn't eat enough since I tried to stick to only regular points because of my over indulgence last week. I am just going to go with the thought that it will even back out if I just keep on keepin on. I am going to make an effort to use some activity points and the weeklys this coming week and see if it helps. It's so hard to shake the thought that "eating less will bring more loss" it just doesn't seem to be the case for me. OH well, still at 17 lbs in 8 weeks which isn't bad at all.. so I am NOT complaining!

Could be any number of reasons you saw a gain last week...TOM, salt, excercisng etc., or as you mentioned, there really may be no good reason at all. It happens to everyone. I find that if I overindulge in salt, it takes 2 days to come off...not just 1. And I actually gain or STS 2 weeks before the beginning of TOM, some women the week before, and some the week of...

When you see odd numbers like you did this week, make note of it. In a few more months, you may see a pattern emerge...like mine above.

Congrats on the loss so far!!!

Wow, that's great. 17 in 8. That rhymes.

I find there are three things that will make me gain -- alcohol, salt and MSG. Especially alcohol. If I overindulge while drinking, no matter when in the week, I will gain at least half a pound. It probably leads me to eat more. So it could be something like that?

But it seems like whatever you're doing, you're doing right!

I have been having issues with slight gains and very low losses for several weeks and hubby has been nagging me that I don't eat enough. Once in a while I don't eat all of my daily points, but it tends to be something like I'll plan out dinner and be too full to eat everything and almost never eat after dinner (hubby prefers to eat dinner late and I go to bed earlyish usually), etc. I used to eat about half my weekly points, but it's been more like 0-10 lately, and I earn a lot of AP and don't eat any of those.

So this week I figured why the heck not, nothing else is working. I track calories too and I estimate I've added 200-300 cals a day this week and I've made sure to get better about the things that were causing me not to get all the points in. I was absolutely stunned that from Saturday a.m. to Wednesday a.m. (stayed about the same on Thursday) my scale at home dropped like close to 6 lbs. I told hubby that today, there was much gloating.

(**Of course I've also made sure that the cals I did add were all very good choices!)

I find it very helpful to focus on meeting the good health guidelines. How are you doing with that? I believe that what you eat is am important as how much you eat. For me, if I hit those guidelines I feel satisfied with healthy choices and tend to lose as well...

The 2 lbs gain was most certainly drinking and too much food (vacation in LA with my brothers) but I got right back on track that monday (was only bad sat-sun) and had the 2 lbs gain for thurs, which I totally expected. This weeks 1lb gain was after diligently tracking and not going over my points at all. I also didn't use ANY of the weekly points. I think that is where I went wrong. I was thinking that I wouldn't eat those this week to make up for the over indulgence that previous weekend.
So tommorrow starts a new week and will go back to eating some AP and the weeklys too. I think it will help. Regardless, I know I am on the right track.
And I am eating good foods too. Some with more salt than others, but generally I do pretty well.
I do best when I spend my weekly points on one "out to eat" dinner, so that is the plan for tommorrow night (fried fish, I know it's bad but it's one craving I just can't get over, and have only had once in the 8 weeks, which then resulted in a 5 lb loss believe it or not the following weigh in, go figure).
I am not letting this get me down, but also thought it was important to post even when it isn't necessarily "good news"
I know in the end, by Christmas, I will have a signifigant loss to report
Thanks for the support, it is very much appreciated! I really love this forum, just gotta find more time to write!

Thanks
I have been doing good. Just haven't had a moment to post this week! I started work after summer break
This week I lost 4 lbs, which after the 3lb gain makes it 1 lb, but still chugging along. Doing great and still feeling motivated

Funny, I had the exact same issue this past week and when I stalled out a few weeks ago. I realize that it's not about eating less, but about eating right. After all of my gains this week, I went back to the exact same portions and what do you know...no gain, no loss either...but no gain...hoping for a whoosh soon!
