Default Major NSV!

I just went wedding dress shopping today and felt great about myself the whole time!!

Ever since my fiance popped the question, I had been agonizing about dress shopping. I had flashbacks of how horrible I felt when finding prom dresses and dresses to wear to other peoples' weddings. I thought it would be a million times worse than jeans shopping. (Which I'm now convinced is the highest pressure shopping out there!) Sure, there were dress styles that looked terrible on me, but weeding those out are part of the process for everyone.

I had planned on waiting until I was 155 lbs, but I've been doing WWs for 4 weeks, running regularly for 2 months, and even though I've only lost 6 lbs since starting WWs, I've been feeling SO GREAT about my body because I can *feel* myself getting healthier. So...I decided to take the plunge - and now I'm so glad I did! I found a fantastic dress that might just be the one, but I'd still like to make appointments at two more bridal shops before I make my decision.

Anyway....just wanted to remind you girls that feeling good about yourself is way better than seeing a smaller number on the scale!

You must feel amazing! You are so right, and yet so many people think that if they could just lose the weight they would feel better about themselves...and then the weight is gone, and they still feel the same. Learning to accept who you are as is, and to love yourself unconditionally, is truly the key to inner peace.

Congrats on the HUGE NSV, and your upcoming wedding.

That is awesome kariatari!!!!! I've only lost 6lbs, too, but feel better about the food choices that I am making and am enjoying not having that "constantly stuffed" feeling, but rather the satisfied feeling!

Congrats on finding the one...the man and the dres!

Awesome!

You say "only" 6 lbs, but that's a huge accomplishment! Not to mention your added exercising. Fantastic

Sweet! What kind of dress style are you going for? Im partial to the princess style dresses...i think they are beautiful. A lot like the tighter form fitting mermaid type. Fair to say we all wanna see pics

Thanks, ladies!

mercury, here are the links to the dresses...for some reason I can't post the pics!

This is a 2-in-1 dress that I love. However, I will not be wearing the sash in the picture. The sash I liked best was a black Vera Wang sash with several black organza flowers. I really love the concept of the dress and the fact that I could potentially wear the shorter dress again. (Like...maybe when I chaperone prom. LoL!) Plus, I think that this one would fit an outdoor wedding better:

2-in-1 dress

Here is the sash I'd buy, but it would be in black. Also....That girl in the pic must have like a 16 inch waist, because the flowers on the sash definitely didn't cover my entire width! I put it off the side and it looked sharp!

Here is the poofy princess dress that was very flattering on me, but I'm not sure it's "me". Plus, it seems like I've seen lots of dresses like that on facebook friend brides. And...it's about $250 more than the first one.

I'm going back in two weeks to try them back on - this time with my mom in tow! - to see what I think. I'm making appointments at two other shops to see what they have, but I just can't stop thinking about that 2-in-1 dress. I love it because it's so chic and it's a classic silhouette!

I was really thinking I would end up with a Deep V-neck dress, but all of those dresses that I tried on had an A-line that when in combination with the Deep V, made me look a lot wider than I am. It just goes to show you that it's good to try on anything!

Love the 2 in 1 dress, its super pretty. I love the sash too! Pretty awesome that you could rewear the dress for other occasions. Definately not like most ive seen, the princess type one is really pretty too, but your right... it looks like everyone on facebooks wedding dresses lol.

I told my boyfriend i wouldnt marry him till i got down to my goal weight lol. Id pick a princess style i think for sure, i just think they are very outside of what i would normally wear to any event... so its nice to go "all out" for 1 day.

Great your going to try on more dresses. I bet they look gorgeous!!

I know what you mean about wanting to go all out! That's one huge reason why I'm considering the princess-y dress - it would be totally unexpected!
