My dietitian friend said she has been on a McDonald's vanilla ice cream cone kick and went through the drive-thru four days straight to get her fix. She calls it the "healthy" ice cream cone since it only has 150 calories. I lllllovvvve MickeyD's ice cream cones, so I looked up the WW points on those puppies, and they are only 4 points! YESSSSS!
Have any of you guys found some killer finds of great "splurge" food with low points? Do share!
I think there might be a "t" missing in the weight part of the link. Punch that in and see what happens. I think it looks like the right one if you do that.
I feel this way about Skinny Cow products! They are heaven sent when I'm craving ice cream and are only around 150 calories (depending on the product). My favorite is the the White Mint Truffle Bar....AHMAZING! Followed closely by the mini container of Cookies and Cream (perfect amount) and the Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream sandwiches. Now I'm craving one and its only 11am!
I LOVE McDonalds ice cream cones and I am a fan of the dollar menu items in general. I have not gotten a value meal in years. I like their chipotle grilled wraps (not on the $ menu) and Sonic has really good ice cream dishes as well. They are a little more in calories but delicious. I have found that if you just get a small cone or dish of plain vanilla or chocolate the calories are not that bad (and certainly nowhere near the calories of McFlurrys, Blizzards, and such which are 600+). Chick-fil-a grilled chicken sandwiches only have 270 calories (or close to that). Just be careful with the sauce there.
It's not a crazy splurge, but Oscar Meyer just came out with a big box of "fully cooked Canadian bacon" that I bought in lieu of turkey bacon, and I found one slice is zero points- which is perfect for my breakfast sandwiches. Two slices are only one point- which is still a steal.
I do like my WW ice cream bars, but they're so dang expensive! I'd rather just go to McD's and get a kiddie cone rn5192008 mentioned above.
The 6 or 8, whichever is the smaller combo amount of nuggets at Chic-Fil-A is the same amount of points as the grilled chicken sandwich there. So instead of getting the sandwich which I think tastes like rubber, I get the nuggets which I love. The day I figured out they were the same, it was a major discovery!!
i always try for the junior size. IM from australia and our portions are much smaller, but when i moved here i was astounded by portion sizes, and unfortunately i've become accustomed to it.
Australia's small is your medium i think
and medium is your large

How many points are they? I love Chic-Fil-A so much, but I haven't eaten there in absolute ages!
You can go one better and get a kiddie cone for 1.
I had to drop my son off with his biomoms family out-of-town today- it was SUPER hot so I hit up a McD's before I got back on the freeway, and they refused to sell me a kiddie cone! They said they only sell them with kids meals. I said "they don't make me do that in Salem" (tho I lied cuz I've never bought one before) and they condescendingly said, "we're not in Salem". Damn if I ever give them a dime of my money again (on principle for the attitude, or else I would have bought a small cone). Then I hit up a McD's when I got home, and they said they don't sell kiddie cones, so I said forget it and bought a small cone for a buck and had to wrestle myself not to eat the whole damn thing. I managed to eat about 1/2 of the ice cream (none of the cone), and gave the rest to my 4 year old as soon as I walked in the door. Sheesh! Apparently rules vary from location to location just so y'all know.
I have to say, the 4pt cone is ok with me...its more than ok actually. I've been thinking about getting one since this thread popped up. Tonight, before we put the baby to bed, DH and I made a McD's run and I grabbed a cone (DH had a large chocolate shake, I shudder to think how many points were in that....). It was delish! I'm soooo happy that I have a relatively low point option for a dessert from McD's for when I"m out and about. I can't tell you the last time I had a cone, made me feel like a kid again. Thanks for pointing this out!!!
