Smile Quick Question- Mini Goals

Trying to figure out mini-goals for weight loss- are y'all figuring 10%, 20%, 30%, etc of our original weight.... or, say, if I hit 10% then I figure out the next 10% of my new weight #? Sorry if this has been repeated somewhere- I did a quick search and didn't see anything similar.

Thanks in advance.

In the end it doesn't matter what we all do... so long as YOU find a mini-goal system you like!

I'm doing 5% of my original weight. So... it's 5% of my original weight, then my next goal is 10% of my original weight, and the following is 15% of my original weight. BUT! I'm also adding in other weight goals in between. I have a LOT of mini-goals. I like achieving things... >.>

5% = 311.3 (Made that one)
25 lbs = 302.7
Below 300 = 299.9
10% = 294.9
Oct 2007 weight = 280
15% = 278.5
50 lbs = 277.7
etc, etc.

You get the picture. I have percentage goals, and other personal goals that are important to me. Most of them aren't more than 15 pounds away from each other. Some are as close as a pound or two. And then I'll be thrilled to be "under 290, under 280, under 270" and so forth and so on.

The more mini-goals the merrier to me!

I guess you can pick mini-goals for just about any milestone. If you want to pick it by a percentage like 10% or 20% etc, then go for that. Otherwise i think people just choose mini-goals that are attainable and acheivable. Like "lose XX by my birthday in 1 month". I like when people dont put dates or time limits on weight loss though, cause we all know how unpredictable it all is, and its not nice to be set up for any sort of frustration (losing weight is frustrating enough without pressures).

I like more the idea of not putting a date but by putting a reward that you will give yourself when you reach your mini-goal of losing 10 more lbs, or etc. Doesnt matter how long it takes you to get there.

Honestly I never thought I could actually lose weight. So almost every week that I get on the scale is a victory. My most broad 'mini-goal' is that I want to weigh less than last week. WW recognized 5% and 10% then they mention every five in between. So I feel like I'm getting some sort of achievement every few weeks. Which is enough to keep me excited.

I still haven't decided an ultimate goal just yet. I'm thinking around 130 but when I get there, I might want to keep going. Right now I'm 142 and barely getting in a size 8. I'd like to comfortably be a size 6. So whatever weight that ends up being.

And I'd like to be there before November because I'm getting married!
