Default Decision

So...I've decided to start doing Weight Watchers from home. Since I'm switching back to Momentum...I think it's going to be best for me. I know that I can still go to meetings, but I don't know that I'm getting much out of them that I can't get here.

Also---I want to start doing some different classes, Zumba, Spinning, etc. And I don't have the time to do classes during the week and WW Meetings with work and the twins, I only have so much time.

BUT...if it doesn't work out, I'll definitely go back to meetings. But it's something I want to try to see if it works for me.

Good luck! I'm going to my first ever Zumba class on Sunday and I'm really nervous. I feel like I'm too fat for Zumba. Is that crazy?

I like the meetings. I need them. Whenever I switch to online I start skipping my WI day if I know the results won't be good and before long I'm asking myself why am I paying for WW if I'm not using it and then BOOM I quit and I'm back in the drive thru at McDonald's. I need that structure.

Hanging out at 3FC is like WW meetings every day, though! I'm sure you'll do great. Good luck with your switch to momentum.

SPOOKY!!!! You are far from being too "fat" for Zumba! I'm larger than you are and I go to Zumba two-three times a week! It might be a little inimidating the first time you try it, but everyone feels that way. Stick with it! You'll get the routines down rather quickly and when you do, it becomes a dance party. I absolutely LOVE Zumba!!!! It's the most fun workout I have ever done and the hour long class FLY'S by!!! Trust me, you'll be happy you went!

I have heard so many good things about Zumba, but I've never tried it yet.

I've decided to start taking a belly dancing class! It doesn't start until April, but I'm so excited!

Mel- I think you should do whatever works for you. IMO Weight Watchers is about finding something that works and doing it.

Spooky- No one is too fat for zumba! My classes are full of people of all shapes and sizes. The whole point is to have fun and keep moving! I barely notice who else is in the class as I spend my time concentrating on getting the moves down.

Thank you for the encouragement! I'm always afraid I'm going to be the fattest person in the class or I'm going to stick out and embarrass myself. I'm sure nobody is paying attention to who weighs the most (except me).

I love to dance (I have a pretty impressive booty drop, if I do say so myself) so I'm looking forward to trying it out. It's an hour long and then there are other Zumba classes throughout the week if I like it.

I feel the exact same way...but I just have to bite the bullet and do it. I'm going to do the Zumba and I think Spinning for Beginners until I'm a little more limber to do some other classes. I'm excited about it.

What if i have no rhythm what so ever...and really have never danced before (always feel like i look stupid, so wont do it). My friend wants to do Zumba, and i wanna try the Bodypump (goodlife). Im scared to death... and like the other girl said, i feel like i am too big to do Zumba! I just know the place will be FULL of spandex... I am sure most people will be more worried about figuring out the moves as opposed to looking or laughing at my jiggly bits, but still.... the thought of going kills me. But i wanna find something i enjoy to do. the gym feels like a HUGE chore to me and i hate being there

@Mercury - You should definately try Zumba at least once to see if you like it! When I took my first class, I weighed 267 pounds and was really nervous because I thought I'd be the ONLY one who didn't know what the **** I was doing. To my surprise half the class was uncoordinated and the people who had been doing it for a while welcomed me. I noticed everyone messed up at least a dozen times and laughed it off!

I've been doing Zumba for a little over a year now and LOVE it! It took me about a month to really get the moves down but once I did I started to really enjoy it and am totally hooked. I think you'll like it if you give it a shot!

Fitness classes are fun. Do what works into your schedule. Time management is crucial when completing a lifestyle change.

Wanted to chime in and reiterate the fact that no one is too fat for Zumba! The classes are hard, but you only do as much as you are capable of doing. Before my office moved, I worked near a Pole Fitness studio that also offered group classes like Zumba and yoga. I was 220lbs and did lvl 1 Pole Dance classes, Zumba, and Booty Blast 3-4 times a week. I was the largest girl in the pole class, but I definitely wasn't the biggest girl in Zumba. Still, every class I took was so much fun and if I still worked near the studio, I would still be going there!
