  • Yeah, see I work out 4-5 times a week and I do high intensity interval cardio for at least 40 minutes... so I dont think im eating enough calories for the exercise im putting in.

Right now, I eat between 1130-1200 calories (i also calorie count) and i think that might be a little low which is why im not losing a little more.

dont get me wrong, im grateful for the steady weight loss i have been experiencing but, besides my first week on weight watchers where i lost 6 pounds, i have only been losing between .5-1.0 a week and i know i could be losing more but i dont know if i should be eating LESS or MORE...my thinking is more.

i eat pretty healthy during the week.... I'm not a big fruit eater (besides a banana in the morning with my fiber cereal) so I stock up on fresh veggies and power foods. I drink at least 64 ounces of water a day. I just think I should be losing a BIT more.
  • I never eat the full allowance points, but I do dip into a few during the week. I find that I stay on plan better when I allow myself some room to work with my points. I also find that I do better on the scales. I have heard my leader talk about how important it is to use them. WW gives those to us and they have been worked into our allowance to still consistently lose weight. I'm just very careful that I don't use them for pure junk.
  • uncontentgirl, I found that I wasn't losing when exercising so I ate more and started losing. Although I'm technically at goal, I wanted to lose a bit more and eating more started the process. It's so counterintuitive that it took me a long time to try it, but after a visit to the nutritionist, I decided that I would trust the expert.

In answer to the original question, I use a few WPs during the week, the majority on Saturday, and I never use APs.
  • I think this varies by person. I use my activity points first. I sometimes use Weekly but rarely more than 10 a week and often none.

If you look at the wikipedia article on Weight Watchers and look at the formulas it seems that a 2 pound loss is based upon not eating weekly points. Eating the weekly points would then typically slow weight loss by about 1/2 pound a week. For many people, that is a very fair trade off and makes the program livable.
  • I use all my WPs every week. I have no desire to lose 18 lbs in 2 months, though... I would rather eat more and lose an average of 1 - 1.5 lbs a week. My guess is that you aren't eating enough. I would try to eat all your WPs for several weeks (not just 1 week because you may see a stall or gain for a week that's really water weight just because you ate more food) and see what happens. It's all one big experiment.
  • When I do use all of the weeklys, I gain. So I was told by a WW leader to only use 1/2 of them instead and see how that helps. The only time I use them is on the weekends to go out for dinner or have a couple drinks.
