Trigger Foods

  • What are yours?

I realized this week...Pizza is definitely one of mine...even if I have the points for it. I need to cut that out for a little bit until I'm better on track.

Cheesecake is another one...I haven't had it since I started WW...and I'm staying away from it for a while...too many points...I like dessert when we go out...but I can make a better choice. I'm going to leave it for special occasions...like my Birthday...etc.
  • Pizza
    white raisin bread
    white bread
    cookies
    cakes
    crackers

    Basically, anything white flour based.

    A.
  • Sadly, beer. Peanut butter is another one.

Marianne- why don't you just make a WW friendly cheesecake??

I love pizza and have found flatout wraps (1pt per wrap) to help and the point values are pretty low even with 1 oz of LF cheese and 8 slices of pepperoni on it.
  • thats what I was thinking about. I need to get a spring form pan or whatever it is.

I'm fine with homemade pizza. But its the takeout pizza...I noticed we have that and it is followed by other bad decisions.

I think candy is another one for me...just not as bad. I did find some sugar free dark chocolate that I really like...that seemed to solve the problem. Satisfies my chocolate craving but it doesnt make me go overboard.

Other sweets I can have in moderation and it doesnt make me go overboard...at least I havent noticed any yet.
  • I'm with you amandie, beer and wine are both huge trigger foods for me. I like to pretend they're not because I consider them recreation, but I can very rarely have just one, and they often lead to even more dangerous thing, like dessert...

Ditto! But I found a way to incorporate it every single day in a really doable way! I have 1.5 tlbs in my oatmeal every morning (1/2 cup regular quaker old-fashioned oats cooked in water and one packet of splenda too). It is like a dessert every morning and I get to have my most favorite peanut butter and oatmeal---its 8 points for breakfast, but it is filling and really tasty! I use natural peanut butter, so the only ingredient is peanuts!
  • Bread, bread, bread, bread, bread... Have I mentioned that I love bread? In an effort to maintain my sanity, I have taken to only keeping flatout wraps in the house to use in place of bread.
  • Pizza (if it's not thin crust veggie)
Certain types of cookies ( I can't have them in the house)
Fries (I don't have them often!)

Better N Peanut better is pretty good and only 1 points plus for a tablespoon! I can make a tablespoon go a long way.
  • Chinese food
  • peanut butter
    pizza
    cookies
    cake
    chocolate....

I am a pretty bad sweet tooth...
  • Anything that is made of "white"-- cookies, bread, pasta.
  • We love chinese food too. If you go into the isle with the Asian food...they have some fantastic packets to make your own. The General Tsos is awesome and a LOT LESS points than the regular stuff...there's a fried rice mix too thats really good.
  • If it's processed just about any food can be a trigger for me at any time. However, foods that can not come into the house unless it's a special occasion with my whole family being present:

ice cream (except chocolate; for some reason I'm not fond of chocolate ice cream--yeah, I know...crazy)

    cookies

potato chips, tortilla chips, Fritos, bbq anything (I'm fine with pretzels)

    cake (any flavor)

    candy
