Default Applebees

My husband and I went to Applebees earlier and I ordered the Oriental Grilled Chicken Salad. I usually order this and didn't realize it contains 1240 calories! YIKES! I wish Applebees was included in the Dining out Guide..

Every time I go there I order the same exact thing. I haven't had a gain because of the salad but it's absolutely shocking how unhealthy a salad can be from a restaurant! I should have had it minus the dressing, lesson learned..

Applebees has a great WW PointsPlus options, plus their under 550 calorie menu. And I'm not sure we're you're located, but the Applebees here in California have the nutritional information at the table. Its in the drink/dessert menu, the very center of the menu.

And I'm pretty sure even minus the dressing, that salad tops out at close to 700 calories.

I usually get the Asiago Steak on the 550 or less calorie menue...It's really good and I think around 10 points plus....not sure how much on momentum anymore.

They have something new on their menu for WW that I want to try.

But yeah...you think that's bad...look at their chicken ceasar salad...YIKES!!!

I love love LOVE the oriental chicken salad. It's that yummy dressing that puts it over the edge, and the almonds probably don't help either....and the fact that I like it with the fried chicken not grilled. Sooooo yummy but sooo bad for me.

Yikes! It's really disheartening when that happens, especially when you think you're being so good by ordering a salad.

Kimberly, have you visited the Dottie's Weight Loss Zone website? They have a ton of restaurants listed, including Applebee's, and they list both points and points plus values:

http://www.dwlz.com/Restaurants/applebees.html

On the plus side, lesson learned and you keep moving forward! One meal won't undo all your hard work.

Some of the weight watchers meals are gross. I had the steak and potato salad. Not good. I think next time I'll try the Asiago steak. That sounds good!

Litchick-thanks for posting the Dottie's info. We were talking about it at the meeting last week and I totally forgot the name.
