Default Giving it one more try...

I noticed a lot of new or restarters. I'd like to join in. I've posted here off and on, and started and stopped Weight Watchers several times. I've lost about 30 pounds in the past 2 years, and just regained 5 of them, so I want to get serious.

I've been overweight my whole adult life, although not this overweight! I'm middle aged (to be kind ), a teacher and freelance editor. Too much sitting at desks!

One of my problems has been that I try to change all my bad habits at once, fail of course, and give up. This time I'm going to try the baby steps approach.

I look forward to meeting everyone, and wish us all good luck!

Just don't give up. Keep trying. They say it takes 21 days to make a habit and if you can follow up and get yourself up and try be consistent, you will reach a place where it will become like system and that's how you form habits.

Thanks, Cglasscock, andymo and hi, Lexxiss!

The first week has gone well. Not perfect, but well.

I adjusted my SW/CW/GW line. I found three old WW booklets, one with a start weight of 300, one at 308, and the third, exactly two years ago, at 310. I hated to admit that, but I have to own it. The start weight for this leg of the journey is 281. My goal weight is high, I know, but it gets me to being overweight, rather than obese.

I would like to join in too. I'm 47 and ready to shed 30 lbs. I would be happy with 5 lbs to start but I am not sticking to a plan, so the scale is going nowhere. I diet based on my mood so I get to eat what I want.

Childish, I know.

So I've dusted off my WW "Turnaround" materials and this time am deciding to give the old "core" program a try b/c everytime I count points I give up too fast.

I like all of the core foods, I just need to stick with those for a while. I already know I will blow my bonus points on wine w/dinner and an occasional burger or pizza.

Please wish me well. I need it. I feel like if I can't get things moving in the right direction soon, I will give up forever!!!
