Default Meaning of a Cup
This is where it becomes clear that we are 2 english speaking countries separated by a common language - in either Imperial or Metric measurements, how much is a cup please?

A cup is 8 oz in Imperial, I guess.

Okay using a converter this is what I found:
1 cup (8 ounces in American ounces) =
8.33 British ounces or
236.59 ml or
.24 liters
