Getting Back on Track with WW

  • Hi all! I was on here over a year ago and was so close to my goal weight. Since then I went off plan, on anti-depressants, separated from my husband, and moved back to my home state of California. In that time I managed to gain back 45 pounds.

My mom and I re-joined WW in January, but I am only just now getting back on track. I lost four pounds this week! I am going to crack open my Beck book and re-train my brain so that this becomes a genuine lifestyle change and not just a focus on an ego boost or a temporary fix.
  • Congrats on the 4lb loss! Here's to many more good weeks
  • Thank you!
  • Congrats!

Tell me about the Beck book. I don't know what that is.

I just read an awesome book from Phil McGraw - aka Dr. Phil (who I thought I hated) called Life Strategies. It is just a motivational book that kicks you in the butt about change in your life that you KNOW you need. Real eye opener.
  • Thanks!

The Beck book is the Beck Diet Solution Weight Loss Workbook: The 6-Week Plan to Train Your Brain to Think Like a Thin Person by Judith Beck. It's based on cognitive behavioral therapy and has an exercise and journal entry for each day to help change the way you think about dieting, weight loss, etc. It's so helpful! I really recommend it. There's a forum on this board for the Beck book.
