Default Thin4Life - March 2010

This thread is for Lifers, Soon-to-be-Lifers, those on maintenance and anyone else who wants to jump in.

Lisa: March has started off fairly nice--the first couple of days were cold but today the sun is shining and the forecast for the weekend is looking good. We may even get up to 40 on Monday! No complaints here--that means I'll be able to get outside and get a walk in.

I'm still struggling with the weight that I put on. Realistically I'd like to be down 7# to get back to my goal and my ultimate goal is about 10#--I need to really focus and hopefully it will come together.

Medication wise it seems like this new regimen is working out pretty good for me. I'm not as tired and my energy level seems better. Now if I could only get my weight under control I'd be one happy girl!

Melissa, I'm glad to hear that your weather has shaped up. What a dreadful winter you have had. It's shaping up here, too. We've had high 60's and tomorrow it may hit 80! What a change.

I'm also glad to hear your meds are working out. I've been working on losing some pounds from Christmas (ugh). I'm doing fairly well. My exercise is definitely up. I've been walking a lot. Did a 10K and a 3K recently. I even got a medal for walking the 10K--I was moving fast!

My GF is doing wonderful with WW. She has lost almost 15 pounds and she is so funny. Now she's complaining that her clothes are too big! LOL I told her: "what a problem to have!"

Lisa we had a beautiful week last week and this week is starting off dreary and cold but the good news is that sunshine is in the forecast for the rest of the week. I've been doing a lot better with getting my activity in and need to work on being better with tracking. I used to do it all the time and after a while I got lazy with it and am finding it hard to get back into the routine of writing everything down.

I'm still working on getting my weight down and haven't been able to break through that dreaded "5". I really need to focus more and hopefully it will come off. I go this week for blood work and we'll see where my numbers are at. I'm definitely feeling a lot better.

That's great about your GF...and what a wonderful problem to have (clothes too big)! I just want mine to fit!

Melissa, I hope you get good results. My friend lost another 2 pounds! She is doing terrific. Now she's concerned that her leader will ask her to move her goal downward. She's afraid to do that. I told her to pick the number that is comfortable for her. She can always be less if she wants.

I went to WI last Friday--down .2. That was OK, but I was expecting more. My scale at home was 1# lighter than the one at the Center and that is very unusual. It's usually more than the Center or exact.

Sunny here, too, but still a little cool (for us).

Lisa, tell you friend to stick with what she has a goal for now and like you said you can always adjust it. The rules now are if you're well below your goal weight the leaders are supposed to ask you about adjusting your goal--they don't want members to be swinging so much and there are some who pick a really high weight and then go well below it. The idea is that they want them to learn how to maintain within that narrow window.

I didn't go to my meeting yesterday--downtown was crazy with all the St. Patrick Day revelers. There are 6 bars within walking distance of my office so there was a lot of foot traffic. I chose to not move during the lunch hour. I'm definitely feeling better, although I'm still struggling a little with getting up in the morning.

Got my blood drawn this morning now I have to wait for the results. Got out for a walk today at noon it's a beautiful 57 degrees

I understand the goal weight, but I've had friends who had unrealistic ones.

HA! You couldn't get out because of the St. Patrick's Day revelers? That's a new one. We stayed far away from our old town area; streets were closed for the party.

I hope your blood work turns out well.

What are you doing this weekend? I'm going to a ballet with my GF. It's hard to find someone to go to the ballet; DH will go sometimes, but he's working tomorrow. I've gone a couple times by myself.

On Sunday, I'm going to a rehearsal for the big Chrism Mass in the diocese. All of the choirs in the diocese were asked to send members from their choirs. I volunteered because I thought it would be a new experience for me. The music looks quite difficult.

It's supposed to be 80 degrees on Saturday--now that's Florida.

Lisa: sorry I've been MIA the past week or so. It's been a little crazy here--Daffodil Days, orientation mailing, and women's history month events...phew! I'm looking forward to Easter break! We're off Thursday-Monday and the weather is looking fabulous! They are projecting that we'll be in the mid 70's both Friday and Saturday and that'll be great!

My blood work came back good and the doctor said for me to stay on my current dose of meds. I feel good and haven't been as tired. I'm not sure if that's due in part to the weather getting better or the meds but I'm not complaining! I have an appointment with the doctor in mid-April and we'll talk.

I was down 2.4# last week and am so excited/happy! I want to break the dreaded 150 mark and I'm right there. I was looking back at my weight history and I haven't been down below that since October!

Do you have any plans for Easter? It should be quiet here--it's been tough without my dad; his birthday was this past Friday and I had a hard time with it. I miss him a lot and at the same time I'm glad I was able to have the time I did with him.
