HATE cooking!!.........

  • Hi everyone, I just started the WW point system last week. I have a freezer full of Smart Ones, Lean Cuisines & Healthy Choices. Along with fruit and veggies. I realllly hate cooking. Do you think it's possible to lose weight by just eating the foods mentioned above? I am not exceeding my daily points as calculated online via WW. I'm sure this has been asked and answered a million times, but I did a search and came up with nothing. So, any advice or comments would be very much appreciated!!! Thanks in advance! Holly
  • This makes me laugh. You sound just like me! I. Do. Not. Cook.

    Well, I didn't... :P

I had planned on doing WW Online and only eating the frozen meals. Someone told me, however, that it's good to start out that way but that you shouldn't just eat those meals because they are high in sodium.

But, I'd imagine that if you drink a lot of water, you'd be OK for a while. I drink 71 oz of water a day.

Eventually, though, I started looking at the WW Online recipes and other online recipies (Hungry Girl) and, wouldn't you know it, I cook probably 6 nights a week now! Amazing! Trust me when I say.... I am NOT one for the kitchen. LOL!

I said all of that to say: I think you'll be fine for a while.
  • If you within your daily points, I don't think it'll matter much from a pure weight loss point of view. However, you may find that with time, you'll want to make healthier choices in terms of reducing your salt/preservative intake and you may even wnat to start cooking.

Give it a shot, and see how it goes! I'll bet you'll do just fine...

  • I'm sure it would work but I used to not like cooking either now I love it. I started with simple meals and worked my way up
  • I think it might technically work, but will you want to eat those frozen meals for the rest of your life? Because you should make changes that you can live with long-term... and maybe you love them! But personally I'd go bananas. I eat them once in awhile - maybe once a week when I don't want to eat the same lunch that my kids are having. But I wouldn't want to eat them daily. They are full of sodium and lots of other preservatives (the HC are a bit better now that they are trying to go 'natural').

If you can bring yourself to cook once in awhile, you could make a big batch of something, then freeze it into individual sized portions (like lasagna, or stew). You could also try to find recipes that involve little to no cooking, like salads and soups, where you can purchase some of the ingredients pre-cut and then just toss it all together.
  • Thanks everyone for all your responses! I very much appreciate them. HoosierHeather asked if I will want to eat the frozen dinners for the rest of my life. Well, it would be no different than normal. I usualy eat frozens or pre-made meals. My poor stove is so starved for attention it actualy lost weight and went from being a four burner to a two burner.
