Not sure if this has been mentioned somewhere or not, but I just got back from the store and found a great new item that I didn't know was out there. It's Oroweat Sandwich Thins which is like a thin English muffin looking bread for making sandwiches. They are 100% whole wheat and 100 calories, 1 gram of fat, and 5 grams of fiber which means each roll is only 1 point! I just made a turkey sandwich and it tasted really good. Just wanted to share my find for any sandwich lovers out there!
I'm not sure if the brand is the same, but I saw sandwich thins where I live, and thought they looked yummy! I had just bought a new loaf of ww bread, though, so have to use that first. Finding new products that are healthful and low in points is always a good thing!
We have them here but the brand is called Arnold's. Probably one of those regional things - same product, different names. (like Hardee's/Carl's Jr... why do I automatically think of fast food? )
My favorite way to eat them is to toast them (whole thing) then open them up, spread 1 T sunflower seed butter on one side, 1 T fruit preserves on the other, and fold them into a sandwich. It's like a PBJ for 4 points.
Perhpas one of my favorite finds is Naturally More peanut butter! It's SOOO amazing! It has flax and natural sweeteners, as opposed to fructose or corn syrup, etc, and has SUCH a YUMMY taste. Because it has flax seeds in it it has much more fiber, I think 4 gr, than regular PB. I can't post links yet but if you google naturally more peanut butter you'll find their site and will be able to find where to locate a store that carries it too!
I am in Texas and have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the oroweat sandwich thins for several weeks. Have seen positive postings about the arnold's thins on ww site for a while. You are right, same product, different brand name in different parts of country. Anyway, I found them in my local United Supermarket last night. So excited I purchased 2 packages, one to freeze. I can't wait to try them--will have a sandwich with one at lunch. Will have to try them toasted with peanut butter and jelly for breakfast--thanks for the tip! Also plan to share the news at my meeting this evening---if people don't buy them I am sure they will not carry them! That is one downfall to being in a small town.
I love those sandwich thins. They're soft but sturdy and just enough bread to have for a sandwich. For those looking for it, If you have a Meijer store near you, check there. That's the only place I can find them where I live.
