Default Thin4Life - Wk of August 3, 2009

Thought I'd get a new thread started for the week. Anyone who would like to join in please do so!

Lori: It's gorgeous here today--the humidity disappeared so it's really a beautiful summer day although not as warm as August usually is. The forecast looks good for the weekend so that's nice.

I'm working at getting back on track--I'm finally feeling better and can tell the thyroid meds are in my system because I don't have the aches and pains I've been experiencing and I've been able to walk without getting exhausted and that's great! I need to get back to planning my meals and getting some shopping done so I have foods readily available. I can tell I'm in a rut with my eating because I tend to eat the same things over and over.

I can't believe it's August and in a few short weeks classes will once again be underway!

Lisa: I hope everything is okay with you! We miss you on the board.

Pam: Hope you're having a great vacation! Looking forward to hearing from you next week.

Just a quick post--went to my meeting at noon and posted a 4# gain!

Not sure what's up with that since I didn't go overboard with vacation and did get a lot of walking in. I'm hoping it's just some water retention from not getting enough water in over the weekend. I'm not going to freak out (or at least not too much) until next week.

Melissa, Hi! thanks for starting the thread. Sorry about the gain--can't believe that. That's what happened to me last month. Ugh! I'm glad your meds are helping you though. Where did you go for vacation?

I've been so busy. Just returned from taking my sister to the University of Florida for a special eye test. She may have a rare retinal disorder as she is losing her sight in one eye. Very sad. She also lost her job 3 weeks ago and her dog died. I just cannot understand how so much can happen to one person. I told her the Lord gives us what we can handle, but this is ridiculous.

Last weekend, I worked on a Habitat for Humanity house. It was very rewarding. I hadn't done that for quite a few years. We were at the initial stages, so we were framing the house; stood up 3 outside walls and two inside walls. It was an accomplishment. I plan to go back this weekend.

How's everyone else?

Lori, Good to hear from you; yes, need some sunshine in my sister's life. Good for you for sticking to your plan. I need to get motivated again (sigh).

Lori: That's great news about your remission test! I'm working on sticking to my plan and I have one day under my belt.

Lisa: I hope everything works out for your sister. It does seem that when it rains it pours when it comes to things happening. I'm hoping that all my showers and storms are behind me.

I have a busy weekend ahead--filling in at WW on Saturday, work my regular Sunday morning, dinner for DS #2 (18 b-day), dog sitting DS #1's shepherd pup, and hopefully maybe getting out to pick some blueberries (weather permitting). The heat and humidity are supposed to reappear tomorrow but for the time being I'm going to enjoy the gorgeous day today.

I did get out for a walk with my friend at the peninsula last evening; we walked 5 miles and it felt good!

Lori, Yes, congrats on the remission test results; forgot to mention that.

Melissa, That walk sounded good. Is the pup house-trained?? Yum--blueberries. I've been buying them all summer because they have been so big and tasty.

Weekend plans are to work at the Habitat for Humanity house and perhaps some golf.
