Question Points Question

I haven't been able to ask at a meeting yet, because I go on my lunch and they all run over the hour...so I thought I'd ask here.

I get 27 points per day.

When I was doing weight watchers 6 years ago, I was allowed 21, I was 15lbs lighter then.

I am having a hard time eating 27 points each day. I find myself with 8-10 points left over at the end of the day and then I just grab something to fill in them points (Baked Ruffles Cheese and Sour Cream mmm...)

Anywho, I digress.

Is it unhealthy not to be eating all my points? I am making sure to fit each guideline in (dairy, lean meat, multivitamin etc etc etc) but I don't really want to return to the quick binge while in front of the tv thing at about 10 o'clock at night when I have so many left over.

But I don't want to kill myself either

What I understand from my meetings is, you have to eat all of your points. My leader gave us examples of quick and easy ways to add points to the things we are already eating. Such as: adding almond to a salad, putting peanut butter on an apple, little things like that will add a point here and there.

Are you having snacks between meals at all? That would help to use your points.

Add more fruits and veggies, such as peas or corn instead of green beans, bananas, still healthy but a little higher in points.

My leader said the same thing that we should eat all our daily points, you don't have to use the flex points or activity points but you should use all your daily points.

You must eat all your daily points everyday. That's how the plan works so well. WW keeps up with the latest research on weight loss and incorporates it into the plan. Having nearly 10 points left over means you aren't planning your meals in advance and you should do that.

I can see that right out of the gate you might feel like if you can eat less, you should. Down the road when you've been eating at a calorie deficit for a while you may feel differently! Remember, this is for life!

In any case, I agree with the others that you should eat all your daily points and plan your meals and snacks rather than winging it at 10pm.

I have a friend on WW and she's been losing 5-6lbs per week (she works out, a LOT, and she has well over 100lb to lose so for her, it's ok) but one week she didn't eat all her points - she was under by 5 or so every day) and that week she only lose 1 lb. Her body went into starvation mode.

So, I think, you do need to eat all your daily points. I wish I had that problem. I get 30 and some days I'm starving! But like others said, add nuts or meat, or a little butter on bagels, or some healthy fat like that. Avocado!
