Default Thin4Life - Week of June 10, 2002

Good morning everyone!

Hope everyone had a great weekend and that the weather cooperated.

We had a beautiful weekend with temps on the 70's and lots of sun. It's supposed to be hot and humid today and tomorrow and then the temps are going to drop down again.

I was busy all weekend--Saturday I worked at WW in the morning and then we had our staff meeting which lasted until 4 p.m. From there we went to a wedding reception. Phew! I didn't do too badly food wise although Saturday was challenging.

Did everyone have a good weekend? Anyone getting ready for a much needed vacation? We're getting busy here at work with our orientation program so the next few weeks will be busy.

Catch everyone later!

Good morning!
We had beautiful weather (like Melissa) did this weekend. Went to 2 high school graduation parties & ate more than I usually do. Must have eaten something that didn't agree with me on Sunday because I woke up with really bad stomach cramps. Thought maybe I had food poisoning. Anyway, went to the bathroom & then it seemed to subside (sorry for the details!). Lost some sleep from it last night, so decided not to do my early am walk. Will try to get a short walk in over lunch.

Not much else to report around here.

hi ho,
Pretty boring weekend for me. Went to a working group meeting for a data model that is being developed for the marine community. Sat in a dark conference room for most of it. We did the "premium outlets" outside of Palm Springs and did manage to snag a bargain or two. I did resist the urge to purchase a lovely max mara winter coat at only 500 bucks. I'll wait for a real bargain.

Nice weather here all week. The plants are all going gang busters. I look forward to evening watering all week.

kt- sounds like you are feeling better. Take it easy.

Melissa- ah, the students are gone, but a new batch is approaching. It must be nice to see those bright shiny faces.

myra- good for you and the loss!

anyone else, I'll be seeing less of you and hopefully less of me.

I'm hoping lala! I still have a ways to go to get back where I was in March, but I am working on it. Hopefully I can get back to the numbers on the bottom of this post (they are about five pounds off, but I can't bring myself to change them) and then back to goal.

Where is everybody????

The board is really, really quiet!

Anyway, things here have been pretty crazy with our summer orientations getting ready to kick off. I've had a terrible time of getting motivated to get things ready and it's not good.

I am happy though with my weigh in today, down .2, which is good considering I'm due for TOM on Saturday...I'll take the small loss Next week should be better. I'm really trying to stick to my points so that I can get to my "ultimate" goal. Saturday I have a meeting at a German restaurant and we're having wienerschnitzel so I'll have to save up some points for that one! Anyway, there's not much else going on for the weekend so in that respect that will be good.

Hope everyone is doing well...

Myra: Good luck with your weigh in this week!

Lala: Hope things are going well there!

Katie, Susan, and everyone else, hope you're doing okay!

hi everyone.

Its hotter than heck here in the emerald city. I hope my squash are enjoying the weather.

Nothing new here, just slogging away at data and schmoozing up developers. I'm going to San Diego this weekend for 36 hours to see my parents. It should be good for at least one shopping trip.

I have to admit to not weighing in, though I am thinking I better as I have stated before - Summer is a bad time for me. My shorts all fit and that is good, but I gotta keep myself accountable.

Melissa- good on ya for the loss. I love a good schnitzel and I love german salads. They know how to be very creative.

I hope everyone is doing well. I'm certainly going to lay low in our first heat of the season.

I'm so happy. Just back from my WI and I lost 1.4 lbs! It felt so good. Hopefully I can keep this up. I am lucky that today was WI day. It was a real stressful day, but there was no way I was going to give in and munch out. I only hope tomorrow will be less stressful.

Woohoo Myra!!! You're doing great and you've made the statement you're not going to give in to stress eating. You'll be back down in no time!

Default Don't Quit

I got this from a list that I subscribe to and thought everyone would enjoy it...

Don't Quit (Author unknown)

When you've eaten too much and you can't write it down
And you feel like the biggest failure in town
When you want to give up just because you gave in
And forget all about being healthy and thin
So What!
You went over your points a bit
It's your next move that counts ... so don't you quit !
It's a moment of truth
It's an attitude change
It's learning the skills to get back in your range
It's telling yourself, "you've done great up til now ... you can take on
this challenge and beat it somehow."
It's part of your journey toward reaching your goal
You're still gonna make it, just stay in control
To stumble and fall is not a disgrace
If you summon the will to get back in the race
But, often the strugglers when losing their grip
Just throw in the towel and continue to slip
And learn too late when the damage is done
That the race wasn't over and they still could have won
Life-style change can be awkward and slow
But facing each challenge will help you to grow
Success is failure turned inside out
The silver tint in the cloud of doubt
When you re pushing to the brink just refuse to submit
If you bite it you write it ... BUT DON'T YOU QUIT!

Happy Friday guys. Can't believe the week has come and gone. Not a good one for me. I came down with some sort of stomach bug that kept me home (and not far from the bathroom) for two days. Had a business trip yesterday and that pretty much describes my week.

DH arrived home last nite from the sea cruise - four weeks was long enough to be the sole provider for the house, the fish, the indoor plants, the outdoor plants, the lawn, etc. Thank goodness we have not yet experienced any warm weather; at least I didn't have to mow every three days.

Due to the kind of week I experienced, I haven't been out for a run since Sunday . That will change as of tomorrow when I'm back into the training program full-time. It would not have been advisable to stray too far from this house for much of this week

Have a great weekend guys. Hope to be able to post more often next week. (They still have not found a replacement for our coordinator; hence, I'm trying to do two jobs and I'm afraid I'm not doing either of them very well...)

BTW, Melissa, I enjoyed the poem. Loads of truth.

hi everyone!

great poem melissa!

Welcome back susan. Glad your DH is back from sea. I love the time away, its the chores I can do without. Enjoy your weekend together.

Well, much cooler here today. Feeling really wierd, just can't control my behaviours. Guess its time for a reality check and WI on Wednesday, that would give me two before Japan and a few on the road.

I have been definitely straying from my usual diligent program.

I'm off to San Diego this evening for a short visit with the 'rents. I'll be back on Sunday am and back at work. Systems need work and I need to bank sometime before Japan.

Have a great weekend all!

Hi everyone -my name is Sharon (giraffe) and I've been a lifetime member since 1977. Since then i've probably lost 1000 lbs., maybe more. I reached my goal weight this time around March of this year. I lost 50 lbs. (down to 129).

I've been pretty sedentary while loosing this time around. This past week though i've done some gardening and it feels pretty good to get off my duff and move a little. I'm going to order The Oxycise System. Heard some good things about it. If anyone has any feedback, please let me know.

Yesterday I went waaayyyy over board. Ate about 40 points . Can anyone relate?

It's scary because everytime i've gained my weight back before it started like this. TODAY'S ANOTHER DAY!, I'll put it behind me.

Well, i'm going to get going.

Thanx for reading,
Sharon

Melissa, thanks for the poem--very appropriate.

Giraffe, just as you said, it's a new day, shake it off!

Seasaw, sorry you've been ill. You'll be back running soon. I know I feel like an elephant when I can't exercise.

I was away most of last week for a business trip. I tried to stay within my points, but my boss and co-traveler loves to eat. I'll see tonight at WI. Oh and it's TOM--double whammy!

Remember that I told you DH was told to gain weight! Well, last week at WI, he had gained 5 pounds. He says he overdid it. He's back OP.

Have fun!
