Default Thin4Life-Week of 13 April 2009

Hello, ladies.

Went to WI and was hoping for not too much of a gain and had no gain. I was pleased with that as I had traveled last weekend and eaten all the goodies at the conference; however, this weekend I did quite well watching my intake. Also, went on a 10 mile bike ride.

Work was so stressful today ; am so thankful to be home. I was supposed to have a massage this evening, but my LMT is in the hospital. I hope he feels better soon; he has a blood pressure problem.

Well, I'm on the road again. I'm headed to St. Louis again, but it's a short trip.

How was everyone's weekend?

Good afternoon!

Lisa: That's great news on your WI...especially with the conferences and traveling. I was off Thurs-Monday so today it's playing catch up. I have a nice kink in my neck today.

Lori: Hang in there!

My weekend was pretty quiet--we colored eggs, and had our traditional Easter breakfast. I went to see my dad and he wasn't in a great mood; he's frustrated and depressed because he can't get up and walk around and be outside. It's hard to see him like that. I've eaten way more than my share of chocolate over the past two days and quite honestly I'm sick of it!

I haven't been sleeping good and I looked up the side effects from the new med they put me on and one of them is insomnia--it's one I can take if needed so guess what? I'm not gonna keep taking it...I need my sleep! I finally dozed off about 2:30 and got up at 6:30.

I met a girlfriend for coffee yesterday and it was nice catching up. I needed some girl time. I also tackled my bedroom closet--what a undertaking. I took 4 bags of clothes to the Salvation Army. It's a start.

I didn't get to my WI last week because of my appt. with the endo. I miss my "buddies" when I don't get there.

I'm back from my trip to St. Looey. It was quite cold there. Aaah, 80 here today and not too humid. While I was gone, there was a terrible windstorm and it actually shattered our flagpole (made of PVC). I was doing pretty good eating on the trip and then the men I was with wanted to go to a saloon, so I had a bison burger and (gulp) fries!! I rarely eat them. Back to OP today.

I exercised while I was gone and that was good.

Melissa, Wow! 4 bags of clothing. That's great. I have probably 1 1/2 bags that need to go. Sorry about the insomnia; that is terrible. My DH suffers from that and I feel so bad for him. I have it occasionally, but not like he does.

Lori, Getting closer and closer to a new little one!

Hi ladies! I wonder how Pam is doing. We haven't seen her in here in a while.

Well things are slowly progressing. I have been having more contractions and they have been painful lately. Only about once an hour, so no where near close enough together to go to the hospital.

I've finished up all my "big" tasks now at work and I think next week (my last week) will mostly just be the day to day stuff. I've passed off everything else already to other people.

I have a great aunt who is really not doing well. She has vaginal cancer, and has been treated for it for many many years now. Well the treatments are catching up with her. For instance, she has tubes draining her kidneys. The hospice nurse thinks she only has a week left. I really hope that she makes it long enough to meet the baby though. If she does, I want to make the trip up there as soon as the doc tells me I can. She lives a little over an hour away. I would like to go see her, but now that I'm having contractions like this, I'm a little scared to be too far from the hospital.

Melissa - I ate way too much Easter candy! I was shocked when I went to the OB yesterday and they said I was down 4 pounds. Although it was the first time I went in wearing lounge pants and not jeans, so I think that accounts for a pound or two but still. I know what you mean about your dad. My grandfather was like that when he was in the early stages of Parkinson's. He doesn't really recognize anyone now except my mom. I still like to go and visit with him though when I am up there. It makes me sad though. I actually kept all of my bigger sized clothes because I thought they might come in handy if I had kids. Glad I kept them!

Lisa - Glad you had a good trip! You have been traveling a lot lately. Are you all done now for a while? It is supposed to get up to 70 today here. It has been really nice out lately, aside from the 2-3 days in a row we had recently of pouring rain. I love the warmer weather. I don't feel the need to be such a hermit now!

Lori, So sorry to hear about your great aunt. I hope she sees the baby. I never had children, but is that normal to have contractions this early?

My business travel should be dropping off, but in a couple weeks, DH and I are headed to L.A. to go to my aunt and uncle's 50th anniversary. I was their flower girl!

Yes, I wonder where Pam went?

Plans for the weekend? DH and I are going to dinner tonight for my birthday. Tomorrow I have some shopping and errands to do and on Sunday we are going to a play. The weather here is gorgeous.

Yes Lisa, I've been having them for weeks now! The early ones are called Braxton Hicks contractions, and its basically your body getting you ready for labor.

Happy birthday Lisa!

I don't know what I am doing tomorrow aside from planting some flowers in pots for the back patio. Sunday my parents and younger brother are coming to visit - should be fun!

Thanks, Lori. DH took me to dinner--good German restaurant and he even made me a cake. I think that is the first time in 32 years! It was actually quite good. I went in the refrigerator and he had bought a bakery cake (in case his didn't work out). We have toooo much cake; I put the bakery cake in the freezer for another time. If it's there, I'll eat it.
