Last week I lost nothing. Today I went to my weigh in, and guess what- NOTHING.
I follow the plan. I stay within my points. I exercise every day. I've done Jillian Michaels' 30-Day Shred EVERY DAY this week. I haven't lost an ounce. I do all the healthy guidelines. Even my leader doesn't get it!!
This is the first day that I've felt like binge eating. Since I started I've not had the urge, because I want to lose weight more than I want to eat junk. I am just SO frustrated. I know people have given me advice in my last post about this, but I just needed to vent.
Girlie....I would try to wait it out before trying to change anything. I know it's discouraging but with the intensity of that workout I would let my body get used it first esp with you doing it every day. Have you taken measurements? That has helped me stay focused even at the weigh ins that I would stall or even gain a little at.
Are you eating your activity points? When I am exercising regularly, if I am not eating a little above my points, then I won't see a loss. Add some extra veggies, some more protein...good food, not junk.
Also, take a look at your sodium intake. I believe you are supposed to have 2300mg/day. You could be retaining due to that (a ww leader suggested that to me a few years ago; I watched it and had a big loss that next week.)
BTW, how ARE the Jillian Michaels dvds? I asked dh for the Jillian Michaels Wii game...I have never been so frustrated in my life! It is impossible to make it work (make your movements match up with the game...most of the time you are trying to move, but your person on the game is standing still.) That game was $50! I am looking for some new work outs, but since purchasing that Wii game, I am pretty skeptical of anything that has her name on it.
MPaigeW- I have been eating my exercise points, and drinking my water (usually WAY more than the daily minimum), and watching my sodium. I check labels, and never add salt to anything, not even when recipes call for it...that's why this is so frustrating!!
I am really enjoying the 30 day Shred- like RomanceDiva said, get ready for sore muscles! I like Jillian's style.
RomanceDiva- I've taken some starting measurements, so I will measure again at day 15...I know I should focus on the non-scale things too, but I just am so desperate to lose the pounds and I feel like it's going SO slowly. I've lost 5.6 lbs, and I'm on week 7. I know everyone's different, but there are people in my meeting who talk about how they eat all sorts of junk and still are losing 5 or more lbs per week! And they're not even that overweight! Probably no more than 20 lbs heavier than me. I just feel like my body is betraying me.
After reading the reviews for the Jillian Michaels Wii game, I didn't buy it either. I bought My Fitness coach and I really like it. I have WiiFit, too.
I'd check the plateau busting idea's. If the plateau lasts, I'd suggest looking over the Wendie plan and considering that. Also up your protein as you are exercising. Protein feeds those muscles and that signals to them to increase. I try to eat some protein right after my workout. I'll eat beans, oatmeal filled with flaxmeal and oat bran...
Also, at times your body needs to adjust itself. Plateau's are normal occurences. We don't lose everything at once. One of the ideas in the busting area was to view this as practice maintenance. It's awesome that you haven't gained anything in 2 weeks! That really means you're working hard! Just keep trudging through.
The measurements are a good idea. Your body may just be moving things around.
In the end, don't binge.. That just defeats your last 2 weeks of self-control and everything you've done already. You'll get there! Just don't let the urge do you in! You can do it!!
CHS: I also have the wii fit. Just got that about 1 week ago. I absolutely LOVE IT!! What do you think of the fitness coach? I saw that at a store, but wasn't too sure and thought you needed the fit for it, which I didn't have at the time.

Thanks, tdiprincess- I'm really trying not to get discouraged! I really appreciate the support
RomanceDiva- you're right, they do seem to be the people who have done WW a thousand times. I just try to remind myself that I'm eating so much healthier than I used to, and that is an accomplishment in itself, even if I'm not losing as much as the people who are eating chicken wings and chips.
I just wanted to clarify to anyone who is considering doing WW and is turned off by this thread that I still really believe in the WW program...I'm just super frustrated with my own body for not cooperating. I have faith that it will eventually happen for me, it's just not happening at the rate I expected.
I have NOT binged, but I have upped my point intake to include ALL my activity points and some flex points, too. I had *real* dessert tonight, and I don't regret it at all, since I stayed within my point allowance. I really hope my stupid body cooperates this week.
Good luck.I have had many weeks of doing everything right and losing nothing. On the flip side, I have had a few weeks of going over my point and making not so healthy food choices and saw the numbers on scale go down.Go figure??Just stick with it and it will happen.
I think our bodies just need a little extra sometimes. When we start increasing our activity we have to keep a balance between eating more points but not too many that we negate the work we did.
When I exercise in the morning I eat a 5-6pt breakfast instead of a 2 or 3..
I have 2 packets of oatmeal (4pts), wheat bran (0 pts) and then add flaxmeal (1pt) .. this packs 16g of fiber and quite a bit of protein and some good omega-3 fats in there. That keeps me full and helps feed the muscles after the workout.
After any workout you should have some good protein and fiber, get some carbohydrates in there. And enjoy the food you eat!
The people that do WW but eat terribly don't last. Some of us were those people at one point until we recognized that in order to lose weight, AND keep it off longterm, it needs to be done with healthy eating and exercise. Those ones won't last because they're fooling themselves. And even if they keep that weight off, you know those commercials where is like a 130lb woman but she falls over, its a cholesterol commercial?.. if you lose weight but don't eat healthy you're what people term "skinny fat"-you're thin, but you're fat because your cholesterol is through the roof!!
You're building muscles! I'll bet you find that your inches have decreased. You will have lost fat, which is great, and gained muscle, which is even greater! Congratulations!
Aw, thanks everyone..you're so great! It's comforting to know that I'm not alone in this...
Tdiprincess- You are so right about "skinny fat"...that's definitely not something I ever want to be...Thanks for the breakfast ideas, I will definitely give that a try!
Harrismm and Geoblewis- thanks for the support I'm planning to check my inches when I'm done day 10 of the 30-day shred to see if there's been any difference.

I assume this means eating at least all your daily points. If you aren't eating your weekly or even possibly your activity try that.

When you start or change an exercise routine especially one with strength training your muscles will tend to retain water and thus can actually show false gains or maintains.
