  • I don't see many veggies other than your 1 cup of carrots at lunch.

I would definitely increase the amount of veggies you eat. I also don't see any healthy fats. Perhaps substitute a nut butter for cream cheese on your bagel or melba toast? Or try something like hummus?
  • You need to get your 3 fruits & 2 veggies in a day, as well as 2 to 3 servings of milk.

    My day usually consists of

    1 cup of cheerios
    1/2 cup non fat milk
    apple

    ww yogurt

    whole wheat turkey sandwhich
lettace and mayo made with olive oil
    baby carrots

    banana

    strawberries

then ill have my dinner with a side of veggies as well!
  • hrmmm I did not know it was 3 veggies and 2 fruits!!
    1 serving of veggies = 1 cup? or 1/2?
    1 serving of fruit = 1/2 right?
Is it possible to eat too much fruit??
  • Hi CapeBretoner,

(Beautiful part of the world, btw! My grandmother is from Port Hawkesbury)

My week 1 book says that a serving of fruit and vegetables is 1/2 c per serving, with the exception of leafy greens, which is 1 cup per serving.

As for eating too much fruit, my thought is everything in moderation, but better to eat too much fruit than too much ice cream! I'd just try to choose lower point fruits, like strawberries instead of bananas, to get more bang for your points

    Good luck!
  • Where can you get flaxseed and what am I looking for
someone to take flaxseed for more fiber in my diet. Does it look like wheatgerm?
  • Whole flaxseed isn't digestible, so you may want to look for ground flaxseed or flaxseed meal which adds fiber and is easier for your body to process. I found some in the natural foods section of my grocery store. It should be where the organic flours and mixes are. Store it in the frig if you can or in the pantry in an airtight container.
