Can't afford to join WW, but have a girlfriend on the program who is doing GREAT, and I am motivated to finally get this weight off. I have been devouring the recipes (visually) in search of things I can prepare for my picky family that won't blow my diet. Wondering if anyone has a list of common grocery items and their point value...different brands of breads, etc. Or, does anyone have the math required to calculate points? I can then get my hubby to program something for me on my computer.

This isn't the official patented formula, but it comes out the same and you can do it in your head in the grocery aisle.
1. Start with calories
2. Subtract 10 x fiber grams (up to max of 4 grams)
3. Add 4 x fat grams
4. Divide total by 50 and round
Good luck Redneck,
And remember there's a food and points thread here at 3fatchicks
that has lots of great information. You can do this.
