Default core or points? how and why did you choose your plan?

ok i'm just curious how you went about choosing the plan you chose.

for me, i need a plan that tells me what i can or can't have...well atleast guidelines to keep me in check and yet lets me have what i want....thus the points. i'm still restricted by the points but can eat according to the situation...since i'm not always at home to eat perfectly and contrary to popular beleif i'm not perfect (not yet anyways)

so why did everyone else choose there plan?

I'm really interested in the responses to this question. If I remember correctly, Core is based on a specific food list and the amount eaten is based on eating until satisfied.

With points, there's more defined portion sizes.

I did winning points, which then turned to flex.

While I like the idea of not having to count points, I do not trust myself. My idea of 'satisfaction/saiety', isn't really what they have in mind.

Also, I don't do well if there's a list telling me that I can't have something. that's all I'll want, even if it's vegetables ( which I don't like at all ).

I'm interested in the new momentum plan, but points have worked for me when I've actually worked the plan...

Bottom line: points give me more variety to eat, but helps me keep the portions realistic.

Well, I started out on Flex and always had great success with it. When I got fed up with counting points, I went to Core and had success there too as long as I followed it. Flex was always great for its flexibility, and Core was always great for its emphasis on eating healthy foods and minimizing simple carbs.

Now I'm moving forward with WW's changes and following the Momentum plan, which combines the best of both plans - portion control and an emphasis on eating healthy whole grains, vegetables, fruits, etc. I really think they made a great improvement with the new plan. I mean, it's not wholly different from what we're used to with Flex/Core, but I was searching for a way to get the best of both the plans, and now they've given it to us!

This time around I started out on core and lost about 45 pounds on it but then I felt that my portions were getting out of control so I started keeping track of points while doing core (it was called Flore lol)

I'm glad WW has pretty much combined the two....they are both great programs! So I'm still doing what I'm doing but under the new plan

I am using the Momentum plan as well, formerly used flex only. I also don't trust myself to do core, my portions and binge eating are out of control!

There is no Core plan; under Momentum it is the Simply Filling option and will be discussed in the Week 6 booklet. Everyone on Momentum is encouraged to chose the majority of their foods from the Filling Foods list.
