The FlyLady is at http://www.flylady.net

It is a free listserve and she humorously, persistently, lovingly takes you baby-step-by-baby-step through organizing your home.

I love today's chore: "Now that you've been cleaning this week, go do something fun with your family."

My daughter and I are going out! (Husband & son are out fishing)

BTW... I lost 3.2 lbs. this week! That's over 6 pounds in 2 weeks & I got my star! I've been going to work and cleaning & organizing & purging JUNK instead of overeating. :D

Hi all. I'm taking time from my pile of work to post. Haven't been here or on the journal threads for a while. I'm hanging in there. I can't wait for this huge project to be over. I went to my WI Wed. I gained, but I'm gaining at a slower rate than last year during this crunch. I plan to get totally back OP and back to the boards, in May when this project is history.

Talk to you again when I can.

Hi Gail and welcome. I'm not a lifetimer, but play one on tv :), however, I'm about 10 lbs from goal and have been there for about 19 months, so I'm a good maintainer.

I am impressed by the flylady and I can see how her routine is going to make my life easier too. I was feeling exhausted last night and decided the bag a clean sink and just go to bed. Then I realized how bummed I would be if the sink wasn't empty and the counters all cleaned in the am. Darnit if I didn't spend the extra 20 mins to get things done and went to bed much happier.

I think my cleaning diety is going to be so happy with me - I have reduced the amount of clutter that he needs to do a more efficient job of cleaning our house.

So, its 9:30 pm on a saturday night and I'm at work - went out for chinese with DP and we're here now, faxing tax stuff to accountant, sending email and getting some processes underway.

Boy, don't I live an exciting life?

Myra- I'm glad you checked in. I hope that May brings you peace. We miss you.

Laurel- you gotta either get eddie some little dusters to wear on his feet or you gotta boogie with the rest of us.

Okay, you are all in bed and I'm going to reproject some data so we're all in the same coordinate systems.

Melissa, thanks for the encouragement and the advice; I really need to plan for the weekends, since we seem to be going out more nowadays! Congrats on your loss, too. Wow, daffodils in your yard, how lovely! It's one of my favorite flowers, but hard to grow down here because of the heat.

Lala, yes, they had great Cajun food there; there was even a gumbo cookoff, so of course we had to sample several ... ;) Luckily, they do this just once a year, though we're thinking of going to some of their monthly dances too. I just have to remember, more dancing, less gumbo! Good luck with the taxes; that's my least fav thing to do, too.

Gail, wow, you are doing so well on the program! I agree, getting things organized around the house is a wonderful feeling, and really does help with the program, too. Even though my house is still not Martha Stewart perfect, it's a heck of a lot more organized than it was several years ago when I first started program. Every time we redid a closet, put in shelves, or threw out stuff, it gave us such a boost. (Lost a bit over 100 pounds; feels incredible! I know you'll make it, too.)

Myra, hang in there! May will be here soon.

Seasaw, these few weeks, and another few in the fall, are the only times anyone could possibly be envious of our weather! We enjoy it while we can, because Death Valley Days are right around the corner. Today dh and I planted more tomatoes, herbs, and flowers, all in pots (our ground is too dry) but had to stop around noon when it got too hot. At least it was good exercise for a few hours!

Laurel, you crack me up! But just two (small!) spoons of ice cream isn't so bad; what restraint! I can't even keep it in the house; it's still a red light food for me.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Jan
