so i'm down another pound this week! for a total of 3.6. but i don't know what's wrong with me, i know it's a safe rate to lose and all of that, but...

i had hoped it would be more.

what's wrong with me??

i keep telling myself that 3.6 pounds is nothing to sneeze at, and that losing weight takes time, but it just seems like i'm trying so hard for very little effect.

don't get me wrong, i'm not quitting. had i not joined ww, i could have still been where i was or likely heavier with the same amount of time passing.

i guess i'm just feeling discouraged.

what do you guys do when you feel this way?

Hi Rahkstar, cool name by the way!! Let me tell ya, I just came from posting in my regular forum and told the gals about my best week ever last week, but when I weighed on Friday I was up like 3 lbs....I freaked out,but I got over it and told myself I'll just work harder this week... I kinda took on the cereal diet,ya know cereal twice a day,and I would usually go 2 or 3 weeks before I would lose any thing then all of a sudden, one week I'd weigh and I would be down 2 or 3 lbs...I think maybe my body has gotten use to the cereal diet because I've not lost anything in a few weeks, then I gained a few lbs,but that was my fault,I was not a good girl, but I laugh it off, like ha ha 2 months to lose it and gain it in a week!! Anyway just try to stay positive,ya know if you look at it this way,if you lose it slowly you're less likely to gain it back, where if you lose it too fast like 3lbs + a week you will gain it back, see what I'm trying to say? "GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WEIGHT" get it?? Anyway you can do it!!! Just thought I'd pass this on to ya!!

When I'm feeling a little down about how much I need to go... or if I feel like I could've done more and lost more, etc. I just remember to look at how close I am to my mini-goals, and try to focus on the Non-Scale battles I'm fighting. Such as getting to the treadmill after work... or eating 5 fruits & vegetables each day. Thinking about those things is definitely time consuming, so I don't waste as much time thinking about things I can't control, such as how fast I lose weight.

I'm glad to hear you're going to keep at it! The weight loss will come. Enjoy being healthier than you were 3.6 pounds ago.

oh i feel your pain. i do.

in May 2006 i started worrying about my health and went on South beach diet. I started losing weight. I lose an AVERAGE of .6 pounds per week.

but over the period of 122 weeks, losing just .6 pounds per week I've lost nearly 75 pounds...

ONE day at a time.
one meal at a time

I feel your pain. I'm on my first week of ww and am already impatient. I keep focusing on myself at Christmas (maybe 15 to 20 lbs lighter?) That's going to be awesome!!! I really recommend the podcast called insideoutweightloss by renee stephens. It has made such an impact to my life. Even if you don't have an mp3 player, you can listen on your computer.

do a search for renee on personal life media dot com. I don't have enough posts on here to put in links.

You didn't put the extra weight on in a week, don't think it will all come off in a week either That's how I look at it.

Well for me I can't weigh myself every week cause I feel like I'll just get discouraged if I have a good weigh in one week and then a bad weigh in the next week. So I weigh myself at the end of every month. I just started my diet Aug. 1st and weighed in for the first time Aug. 31st and had lost 10 lbs. Nobody is perfect were all gonna have our faults but if you just get yourself back on track you'll be fine. Everybody has a different body type you may lose a lot of weight one week then not so much the next or gain. Then you have to think water weight you'll lose a lot then you can gain muscle.

The thing I do too, is to tape myself. Sometimes I still lose some inches even if I'm not losing as much weight. Mini goals for both keep me motivated
