Default What cereal do you eat?

What cereal do you eat for breakfast that is low in points and filling? All answers are appreciated! I need some suggestions. If you list points please dont list the points from milk. Thanks!!!

Mmmmmm, cereal! I eat Kellogg's Complete Wheat Bran Flakes (1 point for 3/4c, bumps to 3 points for 1-1/2c) for breakfast every day, and nearly every day I eat Fiber One Honey Clusters (3 points for 1c) for lunch. I could never go low carb, which is why I love WW!

I'm glad you started this thread! I was wondering about Frosted Shredded Wheat. I have this idea that Shredded Wheat is healthy yet it's carbs and is frosted a.k.a. sugar. Thoughts?

Porridge/oatmeal/whatever you girls call it.

Low points and keeps me full until I can eat again - which may be 5-6 hours on a busy day at work!

I really like the Fiber 1 cereals, they're pretty tasty. I also like the frosted shredded wheat cereal.

FiberOne - (1/2 c = 0 points)
All Bran Buds- (1/3 c = 1 pt)
Honey Nut Cheereoos - (3/4 c = 2 pts)

I like mixing my FiberOne into my yogurt in the morning. I like the All Bran with my skim milk warmed up in the microwave and the Cheereos I like with milk or just eat by themselves as a snack.

I have eaten the Caramel FiberOne - it is very similar to Cinnamon Toast Crunch, but without all the calories plus more fiber. It is pretty good too.

I avoid the sugary cereals. The frosted shreaded wheat isn't too bad because of the fiber. I like to eat those plain as a snack too. I like Special K cereals too, but don't have that around to tell you the points, but you could probably google it.

I do one cup of fiber one- 2 points. Sometimes I eat it dry with some applesauce, or mix it into a pb sandwich.

Total original is I think only 1 point per 3/4 cup serving. I'll eat that or bran flakes with fruit on top. I can't remember...I think the Curves fruit & nut stuff is 2 points per 3/4 cup serving. I try to stick to 2 points or less per measured serving. Cheerios & multi-grain Cheerios are pretty good, too.

Oatmeal, especially steel cut oats, is great. Those microwaveable grits (Quaker) are at most 2 points/serving. So I'll use those sometimes, too.

I don't always want cereal though, so on the other side of things, I sometimes microwave-scramble 1 egg + 1 egg white (2 points total), add a slice of light bread (0 points for one slice), and a cup of vegetable juice (1 point) and a tsp. of lite butter/margarine (1 point, if that). If I add salsa or sauteed (in cooking spray) veggies to the eggs, it's no extra points, and it is a good, filling, 4 point breakfast. Or I'll make a sandwich with lean lunchmeat and just a bit of light mayo, and add that veggie juice .

I will spend 4 points on a good, interesting cereal from time to time. I don't generally eat enough in the morning as it is, so I have room to splurge a little. Kashi has a new (to me) cereal called Kashi U which is amazing - I have to be careful with it or I'll eat the box in two days! 1 cup is 4 points.

Otherwise if I'm looking for "diet" cereal I eat 1/2c of original fiber one for 0 points.

Smart start. A 6 year old picked it out for me and it is really good, plus it's good for your heart. My only problem with it is the calories...200, but it's only 3 points so I still eat it!
