Alli & WW ?

  • Does anybody know what WW's stance is on using Alli?
I keep hearing about it, but don't know anything about it. Just curious, I guess.
  • I don't know that WW has an official stance on Alli.

Definitely check out this link for the 3FC discussion:

My own personal thoughts. I do not have problems sticking to WW on my own, so I am not in need to purchase (expensive) pills. Also... gross side effects.

I feel the same way...I've gotten to my goal and am on maintenance now, but was just wondering about it from a medical point of view... I don't know why. Just always curious about "medical breakthrough news", and wondered how it might apply to someone on WW with a significant journey ahead.
  • In regards to the medical stance of Alli, you might not know that the same ingredient in Alli that stops fat from being absorbed by your body also stops all the good nutrients and minerals from getting absorbed. That's why the Alli instructions advises taking a multivitamin every evening, when the drug has left your system. Personally, one of the reasons I eat fruits, vegetables, multi grains, etc. is for the health benefits.

You can get the same benefit that Alli gives you, if you simply limit your fat intake to 15 grams or less at each meal. The company recommends you do just that to avoid the nasty side effects of the drug.
