I would of never thought

  • Hi Everyone,
I never thought I would be in this situation again !
I did WW faithfully 5 yrs ago. When I walked through the doors of WW I made a life long commitment to have success. I did for the two years following. I managed to loose 100 pounds in that span. I was estactic and thought nothing would be able to stop me or my success.
    Well, low and behold....life did.
I met the man of my dreams after being single for 10 yrs. We were married 2 yrs ago. He also fights weight issues. He had surgery to help him along. (SIDE NOTE) He too after 2 yrs post surgery is stuggling.
My dad had health issues, thus my parents coming to live with us so he could be closer to his doctor...during this time from months before the wedding to my dad being sick...I seen the pounds climbing back on....I thought I'll get it under control..go back to WW...I did...the pounds didn't come off..
So...I went to the doctor to see what might be going on...Well..thyroid is the problem. I have been on synthroid now for about a year. I'm still not having any luck loosing. I follow the program, and exercise.

I refuse to not follow progam and to not exercise. I'm currently under my doctors care for a diet and exercise program...I loose a pound of two and it finds it way back...I have yet to hurdle over to a 5 lb loss.

I'm not depressed, and have little stress...so I'm not sure what the problem is...other than life....
I'm hoping to find some inspiration and motivation here to keep plugging along.
I have gotten out the old "new me pics" and put them around the house in hope of inspiration and as a suttle reminder.

I guess the kicker was this past weekend I cleaned out my closet and finally moved the smaller size clothes to another closet...I did safe a few just as reminders.........

I'm frustrated and really thought I WOULD BE AT GOAL by now. When I started I was at 330... I got down to 210 and in the last 2.5 yrs have seen a constant gain to my present weight.

I'm hoping this is the start to another NEW ME !

Thanks for letting me share and good luck to all of you.

    Kelly~
  • Hi Kelly!

Maintaining is an accomplishment. Even if we happen to be maintaining at a higher weight than we would like. What you're doing for yourself now...eating healthier & exericising... is what we all need to be doing even if the weight isn't coming off. You're healthier

Stick around, keep on posting! Let us know how things are going for you, because we do love to hear about everyone and their journey.

    Glad you are here!
  • Hi Kelly-
Welcome, glad that you're here, Good Luck, this is a great place for support or if you just need someone to listen. take care
  • Thanks. I'm looking forward to being here and getting back on track. It is going to be a long haul...once again...actually for the rest of my life.
  • so glad you are here, lots of wonderful people here and great advice!

  • I understand the frustration of not being able to lose weight because of a health issue! I, too, struggled just to maintain my weight and the pounds still crept on at a rate of 1-2 a week! Add to that the fact that I was exhausted and even minimal exercise seemed like a pipe dream...

It's about health, not weight. Keep working with your doctor to find the right medication and dosages for you. Your energy will come back and the weight will come off, I promise! I'm still struggling to find the right "cocktail" and the dosages change as I lose weight- I've learned that you really need to include your doctor in your weight loss plans to achieve success!
  • Hi Lafayette,

Thanks for the nice words of encouragement. I have a new doctor who is really taking a proactive approach with me as far as my health, so I'm hoping that in the months to come (especially with it being summer) I will start to loose some.
Right now I'm following the WW plan at home on my own. I know the plan works..I'm proof it does. Until I start to loose on my own again I can't justify spending the money each week to get weighed in.
Some days are so frustrating. Especailly when you know your doing all the right things and the scale doesn't like you.
    Best of wishes to you.

  • Best to you, too! Glad you found a good doctor- that's a major accomplishment in and of itself!
  • Hi Kelly - I could have written your original post! We totally understand your struggles and will help you on your journey.
  • Thank you Jane,
The people here are so nice and encouraging. I feel like this past week I have some control. Maybe this site is helping. I feel like I have to be accountable here especially on the some of the threads where you can share losses and activity for the day or week.
My husband is working overnight tonight so I'm going to walk until my legs feel like jello

Have a great and on program day.

    Kelly ~
