Default The scale is against me!

Aaaargh! Just need to vent for a second. I was a saint this week - drank my water six days out of seven, stuck to my points every day, ate fruits and veggies and stayed away from sugar. I only used 5 of my 35 extra points all day. I was ready and raring for a good week only to find out that I stayed exactly the same as last week!

I know I shouldn't let it all hang on the scale, but now I have to wait another week for my first five pounds just because of 2 measly tenths of a pound!

I think I need to remind myself that the scale isn't everything, and I do feel better and look better and I can tell a difference in some of my clothes. Positive thinking...

Oh, wow, do I know where you're at! Remember that sometimes it takes your body a bit to get with the program. Some weeks you're a saint and your weight stays the same, or heaven forbid, even goes up a bit. Other weeks you may splurge a bit and lose 3 pounds....go figure! Just keep doing what you're doing, and the scale will catch up!

Also remember that not eating your weekly points is not always best either. You need to do something and be consistent with it for a few weeks sometimes before your body adjusts.

My leader suggest starting the program by following the 8 Healthy Guidelines and eating all the points you get or earn from the program for a full 3 weeks and possibly 4 before you start adjusting the weekly points. Then to reduce them by 7 for a two weeks if you aren't losing using them.

Also sometimes your body will take a few weeks to adjust to anything.

Also if you started or changed an exercise routine your muscles tend to retain water thus many times showing no loss or even gains when you've been a 'saint.'

Just hang in there...your body will catch up. I have been on WW since August and have lost 40 pounds. Over the past couple of months my weekly loss has changed even though each week I am faithfull with the program. I am now losing anywhere from .6-.8 the first week....the second week it will only be .2-.4 lbs and the third week my body seems to catch up and the loss has been 2.4-2.6 lbs. At first I was really discouraged but now that I know what the pattern is, I can deal with it and be happy.
Good luck with your journey

As long as you are measuring everything, having no BLTs (bites, licks, tastes), and are following the rules, I agree with the other posters that you should just wait, your body will catch up. I know how aggravating that is, and feel your pain, Jenny.

Thanks for all the advice! I'm eating all of my required points in a day, it's just those 35 extra that I'm not using up. I think this week I'm going to try spreading points out more evenly through the day instead of saving them up for nighttime cravings - I need to exercise a bit more willpower there!
