Welcome All Newbies On Ww
Hello everyone this is for all the new comers and anyone else that wants to join. I am new to 3FC, and havent had any luck finding a forum, so I thought why not start one of my own. Maybe there are other newbies out there having the same problem. I have been a WW member for 2 years. When I started WW I weighed in at 275LBS, and I now weigh 216LBS. I weigh in on Wednesdays, so we will do the same on this. Every Wednesday we will tell about our success or tell about our not success. I didnt have a good week at all this week, been stressed out and gained 3 lbs. Yuck! but I know I can get back on track. I would like all of us to give some encouragement to each other, because I know that is what im lacking right now. so whos up to join me?

well its day 2 on my journey, didnt do so good. Son was stressing me out. But today is a new day and a bright one. still looking for some people to help support me and for me to help encourage them and we can take that journey together.

today is my first day on WW. I've been on Atkins the past five days..it gave me a nice little jump start but I am feeling undesired effects. Anyhow, do you mind posting your points and your meals? Just wondering why you feel you weren't successful with the diet. It's getting late in the day and I haven't used half my points. I've been running around helping my niece get ready for Homecoming, so it was a bad for eating "good food." I had a cheeseburger, diet coke, 0 points progressive soup and 2 WW fudgesickles. I'm still hungry so apparently I'm not eating enough of the right things. Hopefully things will get better. |

Dont get me wrong! I was very successful the first year and a half and still am. I have just been stressed and got a taste of the bad stuff, and was hoping to find some buddies in here that we could do WW together and weigh in every week. Did you attend your first WW meeting? My son had homecoming last nite too! But I had a big salad with ff catalina dressing on it, and a apple last nite. total points was 12, because I had egg on it and some cheese. How did you like the Atkins diet? |
G,day ladies, hope you don,t mind if I jump in, like you Gold fish I,ve been looking for a forum to, I,m Julie from downunder 49 mum to 5 and nan to 10 grandkids. I have just started the WW points plan I was on it 12mths ago and went from 88kgs about 180lbs down to 75kgs about 150lbs give or take not sure, I started putting it back on about 4mths ago and I,m now 90kgs about 188lbs, I have been trying to lose it but I have just been told I have bursitis in my hip and leg and arms and have been told not to move to much. But I,m sure we can all help each other with support and friendship. Take care... JULS

welcome Juls!!! Im so glad that you decided to pick my forum! and I know we can do well with the support from each other. Im sorry to hear about your health issues, I too have been having pain in my neck and shoulder I go to a specialist tommorow to find out what is going on. I think when we have pain we just look for comfort in food, at least I think that is what my problem is. (plus a teenage boy that is stressing me out) I have been doing the points also. Do you attend WW meetings or are you doing it on your own? I do belong to one but with the pain I have been having I havent been going. But I am going to go this Wednesday. I dont think I did well though, but I am still going to try my hardest. I am so excited that we are going through this journey together and will become friends on the way! have a good day both of you and always to think thin!!!!! G,day Faith it is nice to meet you my name is Julianne but everyone calls me Julie or Juls sorry to hear about your neck and shoulders I agree about the comfort food and you have my sympathy with the teenage boy all my 5 which are 4 girls and 1 son are grown and in thier 20,s and the eldest has just turned 30 she makes me feel old at times and I,m only 49 soon to be 50 thank God I,m a red head or I would be grey by now LOL. I don,t go to WW meetings I,m doing it myself I get their mag every month and I also get Australian slimming and health mag to, some of the success stories in them are awesome. Good luck with the specialist and I will try to always think thin it,s just when I walk past a mirror my thoughts get distracted ;) G,day mzradie hope your still there and are doing well. G,day Faith I hear you loud and clear, I try to stay positive most of the time so I,m doing OK I jumped on the scales this morning and they yelled get off LOL no seriously I have lost 1kg about 2lb so not bad, I,ll take it. My day has started good I have had a bowl of weight watchers tropical muesli for brekki and a cup of green tea I,m planning a yoghurt for morning snack and tuna salad for lunch with a piece of fruit for afternoon snack dinner I don,t know yet. Good Job Juls.. I am so proud of you! *HUGS* I did good also, I lost 4 lbs. Yeah for us... Doing the chicken dance!!!!! LOL I guess we lost are other member Mzradie... Maybe she will be back! I had a WW bagel for breakfast with sugar free jelly, a banana later on, a bowl of chicken soup for lunch, and tonite Im having spaghetti with sugar free pudding for a later on snack...
Heres a delicious dessert my whole family likes.....take any cake mix you want even brownies and add 1 can of libbies pumpkin filling 15 oz. mix together will be very stiff and hard to mix. then put them in 12 lined cupcake liners and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes... 3 Pts each. yum yum *rubbing my tummy* LOL kids love making them too! :carrot: Hey Faith well we are off to a good start, your desserts sound yum but I don,t think we have libbies pumpkin filling here downunder I,ll check it out we may have something like it. I don,t know about mzradie maybe she is like us and checking around til she finds a site she feels comfy in :). As I said yesterday was a good day I ended the day with a WW ready meal beef cannellonni " Yum " and a yoghurt, I had a green tea before I went to bed. Today I had a good brekki a muesli bar and yoghurt and a green tea I have to go out and about today so I may have Subway for lunch a nice turkey and salad on wheat bread, for dinner I might do a Honey, soy, and garlic chicken stir fry with lots of veggies, I,ll be doing a fare bit of walking so that will be my exercise for the day the Doc says with the pain I,m in and not being able to really do anything to hard I should count incidental exercise just because I don,t feel half dead after it doesn,t mean it isn,t helping. you dont have to use Libbies, you can use any brand. Yes we are off to a good start! Hurray for the both of us!!!!!! I just had a banana for breakfast, and of course my coffee, got to have that! I see you are a big green tea drinker. I havent ever tried that. I might have to get me some. Im not sure yet what Im having for lunch or dinner. Not really hungry today, weather is damp and chilly, and looks like it could rain, so I dont think I will be going outside today. :hug: G,day Faith, OK I,ll try to find a substitute for libbies I want to make them they sound sooooo good. You may not feel hungry but at least try to have something even if it is only some fruit, you can keep the cold but I would like some rain please ;) yesterday we got all this thunder and I thought Yay and it did rain for all of 2 minutes then the sun came out again and it has been hot ever since :dizzy:. I went and got my test results and I have bursitis, Arthritis and tennis elbow I have been put on injections for the bursitis in the hope it will calm it down but if they don,t do anything I,m looking at an OP to remove the bursa sack that sounds like sooo much fun I can hardly wait :p anyway what is your health issue you said you were waiting to hear from the Doc whats up. What are your systems for this bursitis? They think its Arthritis, go for MRI on Wednesday, I guess that will tell. they got me on steriods right now, but so far its not touching it, pain is still there. Old age sucks!!!! LOL I did get some food in me, I guess I was more hungry than I thought. LOL had some steamed brocolli, Sf jello, and a baked potato. Did you get anymore rain? It is so cold again here today, 60's but the wind has picked up with it and feels like its in the 40's. brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!! what is the temp there? :hug: G,day Faith, the symptoms I have for my bursitis, is I have lower back pain which goes down my whole leg the pain is constant I was on cortisone which is a steriod while I was on them the pain was still there but I could handle it when I starting weaning off them cutting down the dose the pain came back just as severe, old age does suck and I,m only 49, Ok your turn tell me a bit about you, your profile shows your photo and your height and weight but not much else so come on girl give. I hope you find out after you have your MRI what is wrong I had to go for a few tests before they could give me an answer the bursitis is treatable thank goodness but the arthritis scattered throughout my skeleton well that is just another bonus of living something you don,t like but you deal with. I,m glad you had something to eat and it was healthy, I love broccoli I sometimes toss it with a bit of light soy sauce and crushed garlic and cajun spices YUM. No we didn,t get anymore rain just plenty of strong winds I thought the roof was going to lift of at one stage :) it is a bit cool here today about 19 I,m not sure how to change that from degrees, all the grandkids are great, you have a good day too, talk to you soon your new friend JULS :hug:

sorry wasnt on yesterday, kind of busy day. what do you want to know? I kind live a boring life. LOL Im 43 soon to be 44. Have 2 children, boy 16 and daughter 11. A wonderful supportive husband, that I have been married to for 22 years, and a boxer dog. I work in a factory that is killing me. LOL and I also have arthritis all through my spine. I love to garden, have many plants. I like to read, especially novels. Both my parents are in bad health, needed to diet or I was going to end up like them. See I told you I was boring! Oh and I didnt do so good eating healthy the last 2 days. I am ashamed to admitt. Hope you are doing better than me! talk to you later! Your friend, Faith |

You don,t sound boring ;) it,s funny you work in a factory that,s what I was doing when I got my bursitis :dizzy: 22yrs with your DH that,s so coool I,ve been married 3 times 1st for 17yrs 2nd for 8 yrs this time around coming up to 6yrs hope I got it right this time, :chin: I love to read too I like thrillers I,m a big fan of James Patterson I like his Alex Cross novels, I wouldn,t worry to much about the not being to healthy over the last 2 days just forget it and get back on track :goodluck: knowing that your parents aren,t healthy and you not wanting to be like them is good motivation, I wasn,t to good yeaterday DH took me to the movies and I ate to much unhealthy popcorn and had :mcd:: for lunch but it was sooo goood :lol: hey:listen: Faith why don,t you drop in on us at Daily checkin 11 it is in the support groups forums I have been coming to this site for about 4yrs of and on and these ladies are lovely I can go away for a few months come back and they still make me feel like I,ve never been gone. that is so weird that you had worked in a factory also when you started with your aches. Doctor isnt blaming it on my work though. took me out of work again for this week. If I have to continue with this pain and keep working there I dont know what I am going to do. I will try that new forum. What movie did you go see? I love horror movies. :hug: Hi Faith, I,m sorry your pain has taken you from work again time off is good but not when you can,t enjoy it maybe you could look for something else but if the jobs there are like here that is easier said than done. We went and saw Jodie Foster, The Brave One it wasn,t bad, I enjoy horror to the scarier the better I love Vampire movies and I enjoy a good thriller too. G,day Faith I liked the movie I like Jodie Foster she reminds me of Bette Davis I just love her movies I think I just found it a bit heavy I think I prefer horror to reality when you see muggings and stuff on the screen it hits home. Don,t worry about the scales if they say you,ve lost great if they haven,t budged listen to what your clothes are telling you if they are getting looser than your doin good don,t be so hard on yourself the weight didn,t just appear over night and it isn,t going to disappear over night either. Well the scale wasnt good to me this week, but thats Okay because its that time of month and I always gain for that. I gained 1.4 pounds. How did you do? I love Betty Davis too!! We do have alot in common! Went for my MRI this morning, time will tell now. Yes I know the weight didnt come overnite, but it sure is easier to gain it than to loose it. Another 3FC newbie here just looking around and thought I'd say hello. I'm starting my 3rd week on WW (online) and weigh in on Wednesdays. Today, I didn't lose as much as last Wednesday, but still, a loss is a loss and I'm not complaining.

G,day Faith, our weight can vary for alot of reasons fluid that time of the month and my all time favourite menopause LOL and 1.4 is nothing to get worked up over. Yeah you do sound hard on yourself, step back and take a good look at yourself, take a look at waht you have, a loving supportive DH 2 good kids a caring and kind nature I can tell that just by talking to you, count your blessings girl stop making weight loss a priority Yeah it is important for our health you bet, but don,t let the most important things get lost along the way with the weight. :hug: Hey Faith, I didn,t mean to make you cry, I wished we lived closer to each other to. I know you can do what ever you set your mind to, how about we make a challenge to try and get as close as we can to your goal I want to lose about 5kgs by Chrissy thats roughly about 14lb, so we can do our weigh in on wednesday like you suggested before, check in everyday with what we had to eat INCLUDE everything no cheating ;) and give it a real good try :hug:. I did good this week I lost a whole 0.5kg or 1lb just hope it stays away they always come back and bring friends :p anyway how did your MRI go what did they find. I saw that you found the other forum they are lovely ladies but I still look forward to our one on one chats. Okay Juls you got yourself a deal! thanks Juls *hugs* Okay I was really bad yesterday because of going for my MRI, got home late and didnt have time to make anything healthy. stopped at the store on the way home!
1 piece of fried chix. mashed pot. broccolli later craved something sweet and had some cookies! I only had a banana for breakfast, because I was so nervous about going to the Doctors, so by 5:00 pm, I was starving and could of eaten the whole frigerator and stove! LOL today is a new day and we are going to do this together! Im very excited, this is what I wanted to do all along on this forum. thanks again Juls! MRI results-------I do have a herniated disc in my neck! I knew that but the other doctors were saying it was a strain in my shoulder! Im glad I took it upon myself to go to a specialist. anyways next week I have to get a epideral shot in my neck. Ouch!!! you get to have 2 of those shots and if the 2nd one dosent work then its surgery! more stress! out of work again! enough of that depressing junk! I agree with you, I like coming to our forum and look forward to chatting with you! have a good weekend Juls! Hey Faith, you sound like me it,s your neck and my hip, well at least you know what is wrong now good girl for getting another opinion and seeking a specialist, I hope the shots work for you, my hip is the same I get to have three then if they don,t work surgery, your right just more crap to deal with so we,ll put it aside and focus on something more constructive by becoming the bikini babes we know are hiding inside just waiting to get out, LOL. Don,t worry about the bad day just remember tomorrow is always fresh with no mistakes in it and go from there. I am thinking of joining a WW group only thing is I have to drive 1/2 an hr to get there, we really need one in our town there are alot of people that are over weight and would get something out of it, hey that,s an idea I could start something like that maybe get a coffee circle going find some people who are serious about losing the lard and start a group. I will get around to putting a photo in my profile just have to find one small enough. Anyway have had a good start to the day had a pear and some watermelon and coffee for brekki DH is taking me to movies to see Rush Hour 3 just have to remember NOOOOOO POPCORN, I might cut up some carrots and celery and take that with me instead sounds like a plan. that is a good idea about the meeting in your own town, I think you would do great, and have fun! You were making me laugh when I read your posts. Your aloud to take things in the movies? we arent! we have to buy everything at the snack bar, which costs a fortune! We rented movies this weekend. we saw one called the Broken! that movie was sick! and we rented "are we done yet* that was comedy and was pretty good! oh by the way I write all my food down everyday. Hey Faith it,s OK you didn,t make it here on the weekend it,s all goooood, major bummer though that you were in pain, I know what you mean about driving and your neck, my hip and leg are the same. Anyway you sounded like you had a great weekend and stayed on track, your movies sounded good I haven,t seen Broken or Are we done yet, I saw Are we there yet that was a crack up. I am looking into the meeting thing a few people are interested but I have to check with the committee own little town has a committee for everything and most of them are old farts and they don,t like to try new things, we have an exercise class run by the local nurse but I think we need more, I,ll keep pushing though. Yeah I write everything down and watch my point,s, but I am finding that writing them here makes me even more accountable for what I put in my mouth. I have been lurking around a few of the WW threads checking things out found a few list,s giving point,s values to different foods and a great one for Chrissy candies, it list,s just about every choccy and lollie you could think of with their point value so this Chrissy I will be armed and dangerous LOL. I love Christmas and that is a down fall for me I usually blow it I tell myself it is only one day but in that one day I eat about a weeks worth of food LOL but not this year I,m having family here for Chrissy and because it is usually very hot here on the day I,m going to do lot,s of healthy salads and cold meats. I make my own Chrissy pudd and cake, this year they have low fat and cal versions in my slimming and health mag so I,m going to give them ago I,ll start them in the next few weeks I make them and wrap them in foil and every few days open them pour over some more brandy and recover so by the time Chrissy arrives they are quite rich. The photo of me is with my eldest grandson taken last Chrissy when I was at my goal weight I don,t have any resent one,s I hate the camera at the best of times. I have one of those postcards with a lady on it on my fridge she is big so every time I,m tempted to eat over my points I take a look at the photo and say to myself if I don,t stay on track that will be me I,m already half way to that now so I go have a glass of water or a green tea instead.

I know what you mean about the holidays, it is tuff! All that good food! You are so funny, eating your camera! LOL I have 3 pics of me on the refrigerator also. one when I was my biggest and as I lost weight there are 2 more! Yikes! scarry! I dont want to go there again either! I know what you mean about writing on here what we are eating, it also has helped me and encouraged me to do better! Hi. I am on WW, thought I would come on in here and say hello. I am Ava, 29 yr old(in like 2 weeks I'll be 29, already counting it) mother of 3, step mother of 2 and wife to 1 hehe.
I have been doing WW for 1 month. I have lost 11lbs so far. I was on my own diet started Feb '06 and around November I hit a plateau and just stopped losing, I started a new gym in March '07 and lost like 7lbs, but I actually ended up gaining that back when I lost my job and got all stressed and depressed and had to cancel the gym membership so not only did I lose my motivation, but I just stopped exercising. So from May-Sept, I gained A LOT. I won't even go into how much I gained in that short period of time!! So, I decided it was time to get back to it. This is the first time I have ever done WW and I really enjoy it. I like being able to eat what I want, because I can budget for some things on days when I just feel like I really need say, that cup of ice cream? :lol: I found an ice cream that is only 1 point per 1/2 cup serving, so sometimes I will save myself 2 points and have a whole cup. Anyway...........HI Hope you all don't mind me joining in. |
Hey Faith, thanks for the compliment and I will take it in the spirit it was given for me that,s hard I don,t take compliments to well :o it,s a self esteem issue but again thank you :hug: G,day AVA and a big :welcome: and congrats on your weight loss so far :woohoo: I enjoy WW too and going on this journey with others doing the same thing is great motivation. I have met some lovely ladies, I hope you will decide to join myself and Faith I stumbled across her just awhile ago and she is my inspiration and has become a friend ;) ice cream sounds good I like WW ice cream just can,t decide which is my favourite I like the fact that I can eat whatever I want as long as I stay on Points I had a day last week when it was really hot here downunder and all I felt like was something cold so I had my points in salad WW ham and ice cream. I have tried just about every diet there is and I have finally found one that is easy no calorie counting just points and nothing is taboo I can even have choccy :dizzy:. Well I have written out my menu for the coming week and my plan for today is.
BREKKI: BOWL OF WW TROPICAL MUESLI WITH SKIM MILK AND A COFFEE. SNACK: A PEAR AND A GLASS OF COLD WATER. LUNCH: 2 SLICES OF WHOLEMEAL TOAST WITH SARDINES & A GREEN SALAD WITH ITALIAN DRESSING FAT FREE OF COURSE. SNACK: 4 DATES AND A GLASS OF COLD WATER. DINNER: 2 EGGS WITH TOMATOES AND MUSHROOMS ON 2 SLICES OF MULTIGRAIN TOAST. And I,m going to try and get a few miles in on my stationary bike. Hey Faith I see you like brussel sprouts too, how do you like your green tea it took me awhile to get used to it but now I feel so good when I drink it all those anti oxidents going to work to keep me healthy :carrot: hey I,m glad you can understand my chart I had to use the unit convertar on my cell phone to figure it out :p :lol3: I did my weigh in this morning and scales were neutral no loss no gain but I also measure myself every week and I have lost another inch of my waist and an inch of my butt so I,ll take that onboard instead and ignore the :devil: scales until next week. Welcome Ava, hope you will contiune joining us! Good Job on the weight loss so far. You can do it, dont give up hope! you will have good days and bad! this week I had another bad week! gained 2lbs. I know what you mean about stress, going through that right now myself, and everything in the cupboards and refrigerator last nite I ate. was home by myself everyone went to the halloween parade and I stayed home because was in too much pain, and ate and ate and ate. nothing was satisfying me! so Juls I wont even write down what I ate yesterday, did good in the morning but last nite forget it. I dont think this forum could hold eveything I ate! LOL oh well, today is another day, and will do better. I have too!
Yes I like the green tea Juls! going to start drinking that instead of the coffee, because I like my flavored creamer in my coffee and thats more points, but if I drink the green tea, i just like spenda in it! will see how that goes. yes I love brussell sprouts. I like most vegetables! no lima beans though..........yuck!!!! gag!!!!! LOL thats really good about your measurements Juls....*patting you on the back* good job!!!!!! well that should boost you up a little! I havent measured myself in a while, kind of afraid too! well got to go, my brother is coming over to visit today!
