Talking I just hired a trainer... am I crazy?

Ok. I've been on again and off again WW'er.

I am 41 and currently 247lbs again. I have lost the same 15 pounds over and over for the last 10 years. I just can not seem to get past 225lbs or so. It seems as though my weight loss halts and then I quit. This time around, I have eaten my 28 points and still no weight lost. Bummer...

I have read and heard over and over that I need to add excercise to my daily routine to burn those extra calories to loose. I have gone to the gym in the past and yea.. walked the tread mill. I end up hurting my shins to the point I can't walk and Well... that hurts, so I quit again.

Now.. the biggest loser is coming again in September! I just love that show and what do they have?? They have a personal trainer. I believe that is what I need. WW points and a Trainer to help me tone and teach me how to excercise for "my" body type.

Now that I've set up my first appointment.. I'm beginning to think... "Am I crazy?" LOL

Anyway.. I just wanted to share.

CRAZY???? lol i think not!!! prolly SMART....and RICH?? lol....id love to have a personal trainer....but for 5 days a week for 1 hour a day...its 200 dollars here!!!.....so i just watch what they do when there trainin others....and jump on the machine when i have the next chance lol but no your doing great!!! I think if everyone could afford one.....they should have one!!!! Good Going Girl!!!!

OH.. no! not rich! I have a membership at our YMCA and have hired their trainer to work with me there. She suggested that I start out with her on Thursdays, one time a week. $38 for one hour. She said that she has clients who pay her 3 times a week to just one time a month. It was up to me. She said that she requires me to work out 3 times a week, so she will work with me during our session and she will give me homework for the other two sessions.

I believe that I can do it.

My husband tells me that I will love it and will probably become addicted to working out. Right now?? I am "scared and excited" rolled into one!

I want to be beautiful, but the trip to get there is scarey. LOL

well....although we dont know each other....hunny your already beautiful!!! But i do understand ya wanna feel good with that beauty!!! So good for you!!! Congrats! Let me know how that trainer thing goes....id love to hear the results!!!! Good job girl!!

the best thing i ever did was to get a trainer! i saw her twice a week for a half hour at a time. the only reason i could even go to her was that my gym had a contest and i won the training sessions. then for my bday i asked all my relatives for money to get more sessions. my trainer has left our gym to go back to school and i am in the process of picking a new one, but before she left she wrote out a workout for me to use until i found someone else. even if you only go once a week and then workout by yourself the other days it is soooo worth it!

About four years ago, I went to a personal trainer twice a week for several months. It was great! He made me work out a LOT harder than I would have otherwise. He also kept exercise fresh. It was a good investment.

I belong to the YMCA too, and I've been thinking about hiring a trainer again once or twice a month to keep me on track.

I'm amazed at how the contestants on the biggest loser look when they reach their goal weight.

I have always been large and I am concerned about my skin not shrinking.... but the contestants' skin shrank? Was it because they excercised and lost weight the right way?

I think the personal trainer is a wonderful idea, and if you can afford it a fantastic investment.

I was just wondering if a "budget" or "co-op" trainer would work almost as well. I was thinking that when hubby and I exercise together, we usually stop as soon as one of us wants to quit. However, I wonder if it would work better, if we did seperate workouts, and acted as each other's personal trainer.

Hm, I'd definitely have to toughen up, as I think I could get mad at hubby for pushing too hard, and would be too lenient on him as well. My youngest sister (dietician and inspector for the health department) would make an excellent personal trainer, but she lives 5 hours a way.

Maybe I'll ask her to act as personal trainer while we're visiting next week.

I am currently working with a personal trainer & it is so worth it! We have an amazing deal that works out to $15 per session. I go 3 times a week but had to commit to that for 12 weeks & pay up front. Totally worth it though!

Hello Lifeguard...

Are you seeing better results in your weight loss that you would directly contribute you having a trainer?

I am hoping that with a trainer, I will actually lose weight.

Is your trainer tuff?
