Default Thin4Life - Week of Jul 16/07

Hello, everyone. It is HOT, HOT here! It will be 89 degrees. We had some terrific storms yesterday. There was even a tornado north of me.

Well, the play opened and it went really well. I was so scared last week because the main male did not know his lines. He finally got there. We had a really good weekend. Good audiences! DH was scared the first night, but now he's enjoying himself.

I am so busy at work, I can't stand it. I've been working on 4 proposals in addition to my normal workload. After the play yesterday, I had to come to work for about 4 hours. I can't wait till they're done.

WI is tonight. I'm hoping for at least a small loss. I haven't been eating as much because I'm so busy and the play is quite intense, so I'm burning more calories there.

How was everyone's weekend.

Lisa: It's gorgeous here--75 and sunny with a nice breeze off of the lake. We had a tiny bit of rain over the weekend but not nearly enough. I hope you're a loser at the scale tonight

I had a quiet weekend--DS #1 and I went out to breakfast Saturday morning and we were able to get caught up with some things and talk about his upcoming wedding, etc. It was really nice to spend the one-on-one time with him. I ran a couple of errands with DH and then later one DS #2 and I made homemade pizza. We grilled fresh veggies (yellow, red, orange peppers and vidalia onion) and put them on the pizza. I have so say it tasted great! I love this time of year with the fresh produce. We also got a nice basket of yellow beans that I cooked up.

Fresh blueberries are out too and DH went and picked 3 quarts--my family has already eaten one of them!

I have a short week--we're finishing up our last summer orientation program today and then I just need to get my fall mailing out along with some other things and then I'm off for a week's vacation!

Melissa Aaah, fresh veggies. I'll bet that pizza was good. Did you make your own sauce?

Where are you going for vacation?

Lisa:The pizza was great and yes, we make our own sauce too We're heading up to my cousin's for the weekend and we're going to the Canalfest that is an annual event. Saturday morning they have a huge craft show that we like to wander around. They have a lot of local foods (salt potatoes, homemade pierogies, etc.) so it's a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to spending some time with her. Last year it poured and we weren't able to really look around the craft show.

We're done with our summer programming and I'm working on the fall stuff before I leave so it's a neverending cycle.

I took my dress for DS #1's wedding to have it fitted and I go back next Friday for another fitting. I know I need to have it taken in along the bust! Things are coming together ever so slowly and I know it'll be here in the blink of an eye!

So how's everyone else doing???

WI was great--down 2.5#. It's been a lot of work. Actually I've been so busy, I just haven't eaten much.

Moving my office tomorrow, so you know what that entails, but I'm getting a bigger office, so that's good.

Canalfest sounds like fun.

Melissa your pizza sounded so good I've decided to make that tonight for dinner. I'm going to use the individual size Bobali crusts and load them up with some of the delicious local produce that is now available! We've also been eating a lot of fresh blueberries, they are my favorites. I love this time of year. Yes, your DS wedding is coming up you must be excited. Are they going to be living close to you?

Lisa so glad the play went well! Hope things lighten up at work, that can be stressful!

Well ladies I've joined the fitness center at my office and cancelled my membership to the other health club I was going to. It seems that I do best exercising at lunch time or right after work and the fitness center here is my best way of doing that. I'm sure most of my little aches and pains would go away if I was more physically active.

Good morning! It's rainy here this morning and we've had a couple of good thunderstorms move through the area earlier this morning. We really needed the rain so it's a good thing. On the other hand, I'm supposed to be going to a picnic today after work so I'm wondering if it's going to affect the plans. It's also humid out.

Pam: DS will be living fairly close for the time being--they found an apartment that is central for both of their jobs. DS is looking for another job because the one he's been doing is only part-time and now that he has his certification he can look elsewhere. It is my hope that he'll still consider grad school because it seems that's the only way you can move ahead. I don't say too much because it's something they need to talk about. Good for you for joining the gym! I know that I enjoy going to the wellness center because it's close to work and I don't have to drive anywhere. I like the convenience. I need to get back to a regular workout and strength training.

It's just a little over 3 weeks until the wedding and suprisingly things have been really calm. I'm sure it's going to get a little more crazy as we get closer.

My weight stayed the same this week and to be honest I was disappointed. I tracked all week and got in some walking but evidently not enough to lose a little. I'm hoping part of the equation is TOM. I won't be going to my meeting next week because I'll be on vacation. Today's my last "work day" until July 30th. I'm looking forward to the break.

So how's everyone else??

Pam, yes, I need a break at work. There are some things that have slipped by the wayside because of the proposals.

Melissa, the wedding is 3 weeks away! That'll be here before you know it.

I have a rehearsal tonight. Then shows all weekend. One good thing--one of the men who was in our wedding (almost 31 years ago) is in Orlando, so he will visit us tomorrow and see the play.
