12 Week Challenge - Week # 11 - Nov. 19 - 25

  • CHALLENGETTES - HERE'S TO WEEK # 11

Well in honor of Thanksgiving I thought perhaps this could be a week of putting down thoughts of gratitude.

Some of you have already started doing that and it got me thinking that there's a lot that's really good in my life, and you guys are a serious part of that.

I also thought that at this time of year we always seem to put ourselves "out there" more than at other times. So take time to be good to yourselves. In fact why not write down what you are doing to not only take care of everyone else... but for yourselves???

    Happy Holidays
    Patch
  • I am definitely grateful to all of you, for without the support from my WW e-buddies I would definitely be 30 lbs. heavier.

I am also grateful to my husband Ken, who always tries to be supportive of me and for my son Arthur, who really has a good heart and for my three cats, who always know to rub against me and jump on my lap when I am feeling down.

I am also thankful for my parents, who are always there for me when I need them. Please say a special prayer for my father who has prostate cancer. He is doing fine and is about to have radioactive seeds implanted treat the cancer, but your prayers can't hurt.

I hope you all are having a great Thanksgiving.
  • greatful for:

my health, family's health, friends, employment, warm and beautiful home, stable relationship and loving relationship, ability to move freely w/in my country and most of the world, civil liberties (most of them), basset waggles, cat gacks,
chicken squawks, my godchildren's smiles, my garden, my 3fatchicks buddies who put up with my incessant banter

sad for: the loss of several friends this year - new and old - i will miss them especially tomorrow

myra and patch- I am thinking good thoughts for both of you and your families...
  • Myra - I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. My prayers go out to him and to you and your family... and will think healthy life affirming thoughts for him. I know how tough this can be. Hang in there and keep connecting.

I'm grateful for the extra time I've been given with my parents. I'm grateful that my brother lives nearby my folks... that I have a wonderful husband who is so supportive, his family which is terrific, friends and additional family members I could never replace, and all you 3FC gals who mean the world to me.

I'm grateful for the job I have that helps my honey and I out financially, WW and my walking group that keeps me on track physically, and for being guided as to what really matters in this life - although I'm apt to forget at times.

I averaged about 25 points per day this week.

FYI - today marks the start of WEEK 12 ! And then we'll start Challenge # 3 - can you believe it?
  • Great thread!

I'm grateful for the support my DH and 2 boys give me. I'm grateful that I can get the support from 3FatChicks buddies. my best friend who listens to my ranting and picks me up when I'm down, my parents, my brothers and sister. I'm also grateful for a good job and a boss that I work well with.

As far as what I do to take care of myself--I keep my appointment for my weekly WW meeting, I go to Yoga, I walk, and I take the time to be aware of all the good things around me that I sometimes take for granted--like the birds in the trees, leaves that are changing, a smile from a passerby...to name a few.

It's so easy to forget to appreciate the little things in life. I appeciate the friendships I've made here on the boards. Thanks for keeping the challenge going Patch!
  • Grateful for:
Excellent health, employment, support and love of family & friends.

What I am doing for myself:
I always take time for exercise at least 5-6 times per week. It is my "gift" to myself & keeps me on the straight & narrow. I also try not to get too overwhelmed with the entire shopping/baking/general rush of the holidays.
  • I am grateful for:

my freedom, good health, a wonderful partner who brings balance to my life, family, friends, 3fatchicksbuddies, a good job and a sense of humour to get me through the rough days.

Am looking forward to the next 12-week challenge. Have a new journal and renewed motivation after three pound GAIN at last week's weigh-in.
