Thinking about joining WW

  • I have tried many diets in my life, including WW. The most success I have had was doing WW 123, where I got down to 230 lbs. But I did it on my own, just using the books and reverse engineering the points system so I could calculate points given the cal/fat/fiber numbers on my own. Since then, I have ballooned back up to 330 lbs. I have lost some weight, and now sit at 318.

I am thinking about doing WW again. This time, I am thinking about actually joining the meetings. Work has a group meeting for ~$110 for 13 weeks. I really want to lose the weight and keep it off, and I think this might be the best way to do it.

I am just nervous to weigh in, will the scale even handle my 300+ pounds? I would feel soooooo bad if they were like, "We're sorry, you are too fat to be weighed on our scale"

What do you think about me joining WW?
  • I love meetings. I would be surprised if you went and they didn't have a scale that would weigh you accurately.

$110 for 13 weeks is a great deal. Start out with it, see how you are doing after the 13 weeks and then decide what route you will go. $110 is easily spent in take out food and restaurant meals in 3 months. I love the program and even though I'm going slowly, I do not feel like I'm being deprived EVER - even through Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Valentines Day.
  • welcome

yeah they should have a proper scale.
