Default Question

My dad and mom joined WW. Dad is probably 400 lbs. or better. Anyways, he is diabetic and has done Atkins diet before. He is 53. In the past, he's been able to loose huge amounts of weight in a week's time just by staying OP. They joined WW about 2 weeks ago, and the first week he lost 1 lb., the second week he lost nothing. The second week he did go to Culver's one night and have some chicken that ended up being 50 pts., but from my experience and using the extra 35 flex points, this should probably be okay. He has been drinking his water. Do you think the diabetes is slowing his weight loss down, could it be cheating? What could it be? Thanks

Without seeing an average daily menu it could probably be part of the problem.

The other thing I would say he needs to look at the 8 Good Health Guidelines and make sure he is following them.

Also how long ago did he do any type of diet (Atkins or otherwise)? It may take a 1-3 weeks if it has been fairly recent for the body to adjust.

Also as we age our metabolisms slow down and that can be a contributing factor as well.

Another thing is if he has yo-yo'd with weight that can cause a slower loss too.
