Catching up today, wonderful excuse to be out, 10th wedding anniversary last evening, wonderful surprise celebration at Skipjacks, great seafood, oysters and scallops and lovely wine. And beautiful diamond studs.
Now to get down to business. PAT - I just am not able to get any taller than the heels on my cute little shoes, so I am sticking to the clean eating and definately toning up. Tried on something I haven't worn since I weighed 170 but while I am now at least 20 pounds more, it still fits, tightly, but must mean I am in better shape. I get really discouraged when I get into the weight training and gain 5 pounds in a couple of weeks. Have to avoid the scale numbers and focus on the "How I feel scale". If I knew you needed rain, I would have sent ours from New England, facing storms today and tomorrow, blah. Video workout at home this afternoon while baking cupcakes. MEL - One of my pals is from Texas, puts away her furs on Memorial Day, she loves it when it is hot like you are describing. FRU - congrats on the green belt, what a great measure of accomplishment. Shananigans - I hope you get to vacation real soon, sounds like you are at the end of the rope. Sunscrreen hoarding??? Reminds me have to buy some more, maybe that Frog stuff that is combined bug repellant. |
Mel, It was 100 here the other day! I didn't sign up for this weather when I moved here. Yesterday was 93 degrees and raining. I didn't sign up for that either!
Tomorrow, the bf and I are going to attempt an early morning hike. We aren't morning people but it is really the only way we are going to get hikes in throughout the summer. I'm also a little frustrated. It is a stupid frustration but still frustration. I even made another thread about it (eating what you need). I guess I realized I need to be more careful about my eating in order to lose weight. For some reason, I thought if I just ate the right foods and did moderate portion control, then I'd lose weight. All that has got me is a couple lbs loss in a couple months. I guess it really means I have to deal with the emotional eating and the eating out of boredom and the eating just to eat. I thought I was a good 50-80 lbs away from that. Oh well :) |
Well, after a cloudy, showery day yesterday (after Wed raining-all-day weather), it's clear and sunny today! I can hear my grass growing  Our small town's Farmer's Market has started. It's I think the 3rd year, and there has not been a rainy Friday yet! Amazing. It's just diagonally across the street from the library, so I try to get over there every Friday I'm at work.
Rabbit, you even sound more energetic! I was watching a TV show about traveling in the Netherlands the other night. One woman the host was talking to was saying that all the Dutch speak English and and German or French in addition to Dutch, and "oh, some foreign languages, too!" This was in Amsterdam, of course. Interesting to hear how much bike riding there is. Being in a rural area, we don't have a lot of sidewalks, except right in town. Now, however, whenever a road is reconstructed or major improvements done, there is a bike trail added as part of the job. The trail I usually ride on runs about 40 miles with only a few interruptions. In Anchorage, which is of course the largest city in Alaska, there is huge network of bike trails. Many people ride their bikes to work there, though only about 5 months a year - when it's snow free. :) Nelie - I read your other thread, and I've been thinking about it. It'll take me some more time to formulate a reply, but it "spoke" to me. Liza - Happy Anniversary! Dinner sounded delicious. I love seafood! Yay about fitting into smaller clothing. I took out some black jeans this morning - that are the same brand and size as the regular jean-colored ones I weat usually. Still too tight in the waist! What's up with that??? :dunno: After work I'm off for a bike ride :bike2: - planning on same time (1/2 hour) but going a longer distance. If it decides to rain, I have my gym stuff in the car too. In fact, these days, my life is in my car! Have a great Friday everyone. |
