Lydia, I am starting phase 2 of the program soon so maybe that change will be enough for me, but just in case I'm going to look for some new things to do to keep it fresh. I've been playing with the idea of some form of yoga as I've never done it. There are many studios near me so I might have to check them out. My gym offers classes too.
I'm tired today, its Dylan and I's three year anniversary and he *ahem* kept me from getting to bed at a decent time last night. Tonight we're going out for dinner, drinks, a movie, and tomorrow we're having a 'The Office' marathon with the newest season that's out (I get him the newest one each year) I just gotta make it through work and them it's my weekend! He's taking tomorrow off so we can spend more time together and do more stuff. So I'm happy I have something to look forward to at the end of the day. :) |
Good morning! The reunion went well, and I believe I looked totally fabulous in the dress. And definitely showed off my new muscles. :) Several people who would never have spoken to me in high school were coming up to talk to me. One specific example was a guy who probably had no idea I even existed in high school - came up to talk to me shortly after I got there, acted disappointed that I didn't recognize him. Considering that is the first time he ever spoke to me I wouldn't expect to know who he was.... Most people didn't recognize me when I got there, which I found pretty cool. :)
Meetings and interviews all day today... Good day to all! |

I think I'm going to do a Crossfit WOD tomorrow. I've been getting better sleep lately so there's no excuse.
Alex is enjoying exercise now too. He is in the exersaucer! He is still too young for it at 13 weeks (which is why he is propped up) but it helps his acid reflux so he needs it to stay vertical. He is also learning pushups. Hah. Exercise is big in this family... |
Are there fabulous reunion pix, Shannon?
Sacha, he is ADORABLE!! I want to cuddle him! |
Midwife - the fabulous reunion pics are still in process, but I will post them as soon as I have them. :)
Sacha - love Alex in the exersaucer! DSS had pretty serious reflux too - we had sleep in a fisher price papasan swing for most of the first year, that seemed to help. It kept him more upright, which was easier for him. |

Sacha - yes, that swing exactly! :) We couldn't get Fletcher to sleep in anything else. You would put him down in the crib, he would sleep for a few minutes and then wake up screaming. It was definitely the motion of the swing I believe - if he woke up it soothed him back to sleep pretty quickly. Plus, ours had a little fan like think with butterflies and bees and stuff right over his head so when he woke up he stared at them until he fell back asleep. His mom didn't have one and he woke up dozens of time during the night for her, where we had a lot of nights where he slept almost all of it. Well, except for the hungry parts. :) We would have died without it, too. We passed it on to DH's boss after Fletcher outgrew it - his DD had a cleft palate and serious reflux as an infant and it helped her sleep, too.

I ate more than normal for my anniversary dinner, but it was delicious! I don't normally gorge so it was nice. Today is about laying around, watching The Office and I'm drinking wine.
My weights back down which is nice too! And I'm a little tipsy right now. Just a bit. I thought that there would be no better time than now to post in an online forum when I've had three glasses of wine. Hehe. |
LOL Stephanie! I have done some tipsy posting in the past myself. :) Glad you enjoyed the anniversary dinner!

 Yeah Shannon, we know! Just kidding.
Glad you had a great time at the reunion! So wonderful to have the opportunity to meet with old friends and to feel so good about ourselves as well. Ah the confidence acquired from 20 years of life beyond high school plus the "I'm comfortable in my own body and mind" that comes from lifting. :goodvibes: I wish everyone had this experience. Glad you did last weekend. Steph: HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! How wonderful. And yes of course you should indulge! I sure do. If it's a milestone celebration I have a favorite Italian restaurant in Columbus, (actually I have two depending upon my mood and the need for good wine and outdoor seating) where I just sit back and truly enjoy anything I want for the evening. So nice. But it's the only two places I'll do that. Other than that, most places pale in comparison. Well, except my own kitchen but that's an even rarer treat for obvious reasons. Oh Whole Foods is a very dangerous place for me to visit on Sunday mornings. Very very dangerous.... Mel: How as the trip to Columbus. Enjoyed the game? And did you see the attack of Brutus? Kid sounded like a punk in the news interview. Back from the gym and I think its a bad sign that the top of my hamstring is aching and it wasn't even leg day. :s: Oh how the mighty have fallen. Beautiful day here and looking forward to DH coming home from his trip to Columbus. Business. How does that work? I move here and then they head back to Columbus for business trips? Too funny. Ah well. He got to hit his favorite coffee house and sit outside in the fall air. Nice for him. |
Stephanie, happy anniversary to you and DH.
Today was my 65th birthday, and do I ever feel great. 480 pounds on the leg press, 90 pounds on RDL's and 25 pounds on incline chest press. Not too shabby for an old lady! Of course, I ate too much today, but what the heck. "Tomorrow is another day" as Scarlett said. |
Rhonda - don't you know that birthday calories don't count? Welcome to 65 - I'm not finding it any different....
|
Stephanie- Happy Anniversary! Of course celebrations are in order :)
Rhonda- Happy 65th. I hope I sound as happy and energetic as you when I get there :carrot: Sacha- Wow, it seems like you just told us you were pregnant! He's such a cutie. And they eventually sleep. Shannon- pictures up yet? I'm so thrilled that you felt really good about yourself. That's a huge success. I had a great weekend in Columbus and other than LOTS of walking and a little yoga, did not formal exercise. My body REALLY needed the rest. The football games was fun, but a blowout. The real highlights were the mascot attack and watching the poor ROTC guys having to do push ups each time OSU scored. Some of the were really sagging towards the end. I thought maybe I should volunteer  Do you cheer for the team if you know you have to do push ups every time there is a touch down? It was just a great day with gorgeous weather and good company. Lydia- we are seriously considering a house on Eastcleft. How funny is that? It's small and we'd rent it for a few years, then eventually move or just keep it as an investment property (about which we know NOTHING). This weekend is "Fight Gone Bad"- a fundraising CrossFit event done world wide to benefit the Wounded Warriors project. I've done the workout before but can't exactly remember it. That may be a good thing. Then closing on our refi, then going down to Baltimore to visit DS for his birthday. I'm tired already :dizzy: Happy fall! |

Thanks everyone! I have to ask... what does DH mean? I see people say it all the time, I'm guessing H is for husband haha.
My motivation is just sucking lately. I'm maintaining my weight but I'm just not trying very hard to lose. I don't know what triggered this and it's a downer because I have been doing good since the beginning of April. I want this to be a lifestyle change, not a temporary diet that I do until I'm at a happy weight. I feel like I'm making excuses on why I should feel satisfied with my weight when I do have far to go to have a healthier body. I think it all started when I was trying to figure out how to know when to stop losing weight. I did a waist to hip ratio test and found I have a healthy ratio, I did a body fat test (I know they are not accurate) and found I'm borderline of having healthy body fat for a non athlete, and some other stuff. And because life is busy, I'm letting things slip. This is the busiest time of year for me and we're making it busier by trying to save up to move. So my job for today, after cooking Dylan's birthday dinner (why did we have to start dating four days before his birthday?) I'm going to look for motivational things and put them around the house. I don't want to fall off the wagon like I did last Christmas (why does my birthday have to be three days after Christmas?) If you guys know of any motivational quotes, facts, or pictures; let me know so I can put them up :) |
