Steph, that would be too expensive, IMO, also, to go the private entry route. I'd look for one that offers a group class for new students. Much more affordable and still plenty of personal attention.

Hi Stephanie - I just want to say you are my INSPIRATION. I just started going to the gym when you started NROL, and now a month later, fate has led me to this book at a used bookstore!
I am trying to get myself to a point where I feel confident enough to use the weight room at the gym, but I'm so freaking intimidated by the dudes in there that I'm still absolutely terrified. It helps to read the exact experience from you that I think I will have, so THANK YOU! :) How are you doing with the program, now? |
I'm nearing the end of stage 1 because I've had to take some days off due to work. I love the program though! It's helped me a lot with my general shape of my body as well as my weight loss.
I now have the balls to go into the weight area and lift with the rest of the guys, but now I find I'm just irritated by their grunting and messiness haha. It took about 4 or 5 times until I started getting comfortable though. I suggest you do it, I'm getting muscles I didn't know I've had :) I really need to get back on track though, your post is kinda inspiring me to find ways to get the gym more often (or even do it from home). I think I'm getting bored because this phase is taking so long to complete, next one looks killer though so I guess I should just push myself through so I can get to that one :) You will love it! |
