Alena: Have a blast this week! Good plan not to work later into the afternoon. Hope the temps become more comfortable for the work that is ahead of you.
Cheryl: Awesomeness about your run! So, the hills probably are pretty challenging but your a CrossFitter. You TRAIN for these kinds of experiences. I'm certain your baseline at this point is much different than many other people you don't necessarily crosstrain in as many different ways as you do. Good luck with the final run! I've been a little woozy the last three or four days. I've been given a anti inflammatory to treat the PF and it WEARS ME OUT! I take it at bed time and seriously, I'm no good until at least two in the afternoon. The upside is, the PF is improving. K. Just finished a very conservative workout and in need of a shower. Hope everyone found a few hours of sunshine today. |
Hey Cheryl! Missed hearing from you! Glad you enjoyed your run this morning, and hope the official one goes well! :)
I got a good workout in today - the WH belly off workout, day 1. I'm such a slave to written programs. :dizzy: After another week with no strength training it was tougher than I expected. Alena - enjoy your trip! Lydia - anti-inflammatories make me dizzy, too. Better not work on handstands until those are done! Nelie - I may have an ear infection, too. I've avoided the doctor because I just don't want to know... I just counted the days back to when I started my yoga focus - I have done 35-60 minutes of yoga 41 of the last 50 days... guess it is a habit now. ;) Good day all! |
Howdy. Another hot and :sunny: day here as well. I don't like to be out in the hottest part of the day either, and as I missed my opportunity this morning, I'll be doing a bike ride probably around 5 pm.
Not much excitement around here. We spent 2 days getting the garden prepped and planted. Now we just need to keep up the watering unless it ever decides to rain. Over 6 weeks with nothing.... Hard to complain though when it's so nice out. |
Pat, you can have some of my rain! We did get a sunbreak this afternoon, though, so maybe things will be drying out...I can only hope, since the dogs have been dragging in the mud by the pound this weekend.
Shannon, good job on the workout. I need to add in more planks and such to my warm-ups. Lydia, we don't really train for any distances over a mile, not regularly, and hills not so much, at my gym, but I definitely started with a higher baseline this year, I'm sure. I started in January, just on my own, putting in a longer run once a week with the (short but very steep) hill included. I'm glad I did that, because the hill used to just kill me, and now, I can keep running uphill, and while my breathing rate is faster, I'm still getting plenty of air so I don't feel like I need to stop to catch my breath or slow to a walk. My only goals for this 12K are to finish, and to run the whole thing...no walking! I also figured it would be good to give the old knees and tendons a little warning, before laying the distance and all those hills on them. I haven't had any problems yet, so hopefully I did enough to stay injury-free through the end of this! Alena, have fun with the BF! Today we did a memorial wod for Jack, who trained at our gym before I joined. It was horrible, as all Hero wods should be, but my trainer let me use the strongman axles (aka fat grip barbells) and do deads and push presses, which beats the heck out of thrusters, any day of the week! |
