Bummed...bummed...

  • I should be getting up to go work out, but instead I'm on the couch, wrapped in a blanket. I had a "fender bender" yesterday afternoon. It was very low speed and while it sounded bad, the car doesn't have any damage at all. Unfortunately, my head slammed into the head rest pretty hard and it still hurts this morning.

I'm probably being a whimp because I feel like staying home when in all reality I'm probably fine.

    ARG!!!

  • Aw Have a cup of tea and take care of yourself. If you have a headache, you probably shouldn't workout. ONE day of taking it easy will make you feel better. Sorry to hear about your accident.

  • Don't worry about it. Besides, you don't want to go and strain by lifting and make your head hurt worse. There will be plenty of time to catch up when you are feeling better!!
  • Thanks for the kind words. I'm just waiting for the Advil to kick in, but I think you're both right about laying low. Working out would be pretty dumb. I just didn't realize that the car's safety features were designed to protect it and not me! HAHA. Just kidding it could have been so much worse!
  • Hi Kylie -
DEFINITELY a 'lay-low' day - rotten head, rotten weather, and rotten luck yesterday. Have a 'take care of you' day today and get back to it tomorrow

Sorry to hear about your fender-bender - at least there was no damage to the car! (oooh, sorry, that sounds like - 'no damage to the car, just your head'!! Not meant that way!! )

    Have a good, restful day
    Heather
  • Kylie: I hope your feeling better this afternoon. We all need a day to cocoon once in a while. I think a fender bender is a great reason to stay inside. Take care of yourself!
  • Listen to your body. You'll be much better off for a day of rest! I had my eyes dilated yesterday afternoon and since it was too late to go back to work, I went right to the gym. Not the best idea it turned out. Just driving that far - wearing their extra-dark sunglasses, plus my own - I had a headache and after about 10 minutes of elliptical, I was feeling nauseous. I moved to the treadmill, but it wasn't any better. I lasted 20 min total, and had to take myself home and lie (lay?) down for 1/2 hour or so til my eyes returned to normal - which is what I should have done in the first place!

I'm off to get a hair cut and shop for cars! See you all tomorrow.
  • I felt so down this morning! Everyone's kind words really helped a lot, so I wanted to check in and let you know how the day turned out. The doctor confirmed that all my aches and pains appear to be normal. So, to make things easier, she recommended taking Aleve, which has worked better than the Advil. She also wrote a prescription for a couple massages and, due to a cancelation, I was able to get in to the physical therapist's office this afternoon. I'm still pretty sore, but I feel a thousand times better.

This board is special because of caring people like you guys.

    Thanks, K.
  • Kylie: A Massage! You were doing fine yesterday! : Glad to know you were doing better by evening.

    Pat: Happy shopping.
