Default SHARMEL UPDATE 08/22-- "Just follow the yellow brick road Dorothy, all the way to OZ"

I just love that movie, anyways, we met with the dr and we are set for next monday (28th). He will do a full revision, utilizing the existing pouch, it will just be much smaller. He will use a stapling technique instead of hand sutures. As I say, don't do the same thing twice if the first time, despite your best efforts, YOU BOTCHED MY WIFE UP. Ok, now I feel better. He will be making a new midline incision for access. Dr also has no intentions of doing the standar barium swallow within 48 hours to test things. He intends to keep her NPO for a minimum of two weeks before testing the "plumbing". He will also insert a feeding tube during the surgery, to allow for nutritiona and open the door for all sorts of good drugs to aid in her healing that can be shot through the tube. She took herself off morphine over the weekend, it wasn't doing anything for her, figures if she will be in pain either way, no sense being tied to a machine. So with her off morphine, the doc wants to use this oppurtunity to push TPN til the surgery. She will likely be in the hosp for about a week and who knows how she will heal from this. So that is all we know as of now, if none of what I said makes any sense, blame that weird guy standing behind you

Later alligators.

Oh BTW

HUBS; "Does that piss you off? .... "Good, I liked pissed off!", another great movie
You're damn right you deserve respect, just keep on kickin A$$ and taking names.

She will. I have no doubt.

Shar, I have had the full midline incision, three times to be exact. Its do-able and you're a pro at self management at this point.

This is actually a huge relief to hear this is the plan and I don't think second guessing will help right now. Just get every last drop of nutrition into you that you can.

And keep those updates coming.

Hey Danceman, keep those muscles flexing.
