I'm back home!!!!! My surgery went BEAUTIFULLY!!! It was the getting there that was tough! Bear with me, this could be long..

I was told to be at the hospital at 9:30 to start getting prepped. Well, they overbooked that day and I didn't even go back to pre-op until 12 noon. I had a couple of aunts and uncles waiting at the hospital that I had told to just stay at home by the phone! So when it started getting long, I just popped over to the waiting room and said to them, "Ok, I'm done! Time to go home!" They just looked at me like I was crazy!! Oh, well, finally got to go back to pre-op and they started my IV and got the circulation stockings on and wait, and wait. Then I thought about what Peach (I think) posted about getting off the table and going for a Starbucks and I seriously entertained that thought for a while. But then about 2pm they FINALLY came and got me. The last thing I remember is "Can ya scootch over onto this operating table please?" I woke up in post op 1.5 hours later with a felling of a ten ton weight on my chest. The doc assured me that was from the gas and it did let up. My RNY was lap and my wonderful Doc was able to fix my hiatel hernia as well while he was at it. Today I played Connect the Dots with all my incisions. He even glued them shut, so no stitches! Got up twice last night to walk. That felt like my innerds were falling out! I had a leak test this morning and that turned out great so I got some liquids and was discharged around 11 am. Not even a 24 hour stay. I came home a took a little nap and here I sit chatting with you guys and drinking my water!

Thanks so much for all your good wishes and support. I could feel every one of you guys there with me in spirit!

I'm so glad to hear it went well and that you're home! Let yourself heal now - don't overdo it. Congrats on being on the other side.

Dixie I am so glad it is over and went so well. Wow that Lap sounds like a real breeze. Pretty soon they'll come to your house to do it or Drive thru Lap. Rest up now. --Pookie

Whew, I am really feeling wiped today. I got up and walked a bit but you would think I had run a marathon!

I'm already tired of the clear liquids and yearn for the days of soft and pureed!!!
