Default Black, 5 pocket, boot cut or straight leg....

with a bit of stretch, jeans in a size 18 or dare I say 16?????

ok, I'll admit, I am shopping impaired. Where do I find such a pair of jeans without having to go all over the world?

Any brands that you like that fit nicely? I don't want a loose cut on the hip or legs. I would however like a suck me up girdle fit on the tummy :0 ....I'm dreaming, right?

thanks,
impaired peach

I've tried Levi's, Lee's, Nordstrom's, and Gap, and for me Gap is the best. They have size 16 in the stores, and 18 on line. I need a little more room in the seat, and no bags where the thigh meets the hip, and Gap does it for me.

Lee's just aren't very well made. One leg longer than the other, the belt loops not symmetrical, etc. And they seem to bag out after several washings, not what you want in a jean. They're cheap though, which can be good if you're still losing and don't want to make a big investment in temporary clothes.

I have Levi's as well, but they seem to assume you need room in the front, where a guy would need it, if you know what I mean, lol! Levi's also assume you have a flat rear end and that you must be 5'9" as the legs run very long. This when the average woman is 5'4". No wonder they're losing market share.

I just bought a pair of black jeans from Gap, they're on sale on line at the moment. They do shrink a lot, more than the saleswoman says, so bear that in mind when you're trying them on. If they are tight in the store, and you aren't planning to lose any more, they will be unbearable after 3 - 4 washings, even with the stretch. Good Luck.

hmmm.....I must be out of the loop. I thought they would be classic, slimming simple, understated duds. I never really thought of them as being sexy. What am I missing? Buy me a clue. Sing me a song. Bake me some bread.

Thin Chick.....thanks for the info!!!! I appreciate it! I will give the Gap a try. Have you ever tried Old Navy?

I did buy a pair of size 16 pants today of my same old same old black pants. Dh says they are too big, but I don't think so. If they were any tighter I would be grouchy.

Thanks for the input. If anyone else has any ideas let me know!!!

Try target.. they have some very nice (and cheap) boot cut jeans with a bit of stretch. They're called "blues" or something close to that. They don't sell many jeans so they should be easy to find. I love them.. mostly because I'm wearing a size 12 in them

I personally like the gap men's jeans. Either the standard fit or the loose fit. They are cheeper than the wome's jeans, not so low I have to shave my belly and fall well because the thigh is well loose cut....I am a 12 and I wear anything from a 32-35 in waist but I like that you can pick the length...Also they do shrink too so keep it in mind..

I used to be able to get Gloria Vanderbilt jeans at Monkey Wards...hers had some "give" to them so I didn't feel like I was wearing a tourniquet when I sat down.

The jeans I LIVE in now are from Target, "Cherokee" brand, but unfortunately they are NOT available year round, not even online. I think they have some stretch to them, too. They are zip front, I can't wear elastic band pants because when I sit down, they slide off my butt.

The ONLY gripe I have is that they FADE. I need to get a bottle of RIT and dye the black ones, because they look more grey than black.

The BEST thing about jeans are the POCKETS. Foul curses on the designer who decided that women's pants shouldn't have pockets!!

Oh, that is the other reason I like the mens jeans, the pockets are place better, and are bigger so they make my but look better...it is all about good a@@!

Thanks chicks! I'll take a look at the ones you suggested. L, you reminded me...I used to live in the Levi 501 red tags! Loved them. Your right...it's all about the a$$....

Vow, I did try on a pair of the Gloria Vanderbuilt jeans at Kohls the other day. The 20's were too big and I couldn't find them in 18s or 16s. I'll keep looking.

Sweet Madness...I will get to target and check them out too. Congrats on your size 12's...you must be so happy! I am interested in your avatar, 'boys suck'. What's up with that?

Good ol' Kmart has some decent stretch jeans in petite, average and tall. Also, Victoria's Secret has some awesome jeans including size 16 (they run true to size). I have several size 10s that are waiting for me, I couldn't bear to get rid of them.

The avenue or catherines on route 4 has some pretty clothes
When I was in 16's sigh~ I got them from Roamans or Lane Bryant catalogs, Love the fit. I always have to get the tall but I found that their talls weren't so baggy in the legs....JMHO... btw, I still have my 16's in the closet and dang, I'll be in em soon.

Hi ladies, thought I'd de-lurk for a moment...I have a little 'junk in my trunk', but very little tummy and I like Zana-di jeans. I usually find these at Fashion Bug for about $30-45 dollars and they fit great!
