Default weight loss stopped after roux-n-y bypass

Hi there!
I just joined this forum after being a lurker on here for quite some time. I'm really concerned because my weight loss has halted. I had bypass about 1 year ago (the end of May) and to date have only lost about 50 pounds. I weighed in at 250 or so before surgery. Is this normal weight loss for 1 year out? Am I expecting too much? Almost all of that 50 pounds was lost during the first two months and then it all stopped (completely) about 3 months ago. I'm afraid I've stretched out my pouch. Will the 5-day liquis thing really help? Please, someone let me know if this is normal. How did your weight loss go after bypass? I thought I was supposed to lose the majority of my weight in the first year. TIA for any help.

Hi Moot!!! nice to meet you - and i changed the term from STALKER to LURKER in your post - a much nicer word!!!

as for your Q. it's hard to answer - everyone is SO different!!! i guess i'd be wondering what you're eating, how often you're eating, and what your exercise regimen is. everyone has periods where they lose, and then periods where they hold steady. and we all work hard at avoiding the GAINING!!!!

what does your doc say about all this?

I'll be honest. A 50 lb weight loss seems low for a year out. I began at 256 lbs and was at 140 lbs within my first year.

Have you talked to your surgeon?
Have you monitored your diet with your nutritionist?
Have you exercised throughout your journey?
Have you watched your carbs and food intake?

You should definitely be talking to your surgeon and nutritionist about this as you have about 6 months left of your "window"and need to really use it wisely if you want to get to your 85% excess weight lost.
