Issues with Antibiotics?

  • I've been on an antibiotic for about 5 days and My stomach/digestive tract feels pumped full of air and I'm considering making myself dump so that I can spend some quality time in the bathroom.
has anyone had a similar effects
    the med is Levaquin
  • haven't been on any since surgery...Hope everything comes out ok...hehe
  • I was on antibiotics last December for tonsillitis
The antibiotics made me soooooo sick. "Bathroom" problems, if you get me. Sorry, TMI? .
They also made my stomach feel all tickly and weird. I don't react well to antibiotics.
  • I have been on high dose antibiotics since Sunday October 26 due to Staphococcus Pnuemonia. Even taking a daily colace, I am only going about once every other day if I am lucky, and it is ummm uncomfortable. I am lactose intolerant and even broke down and ate a cheese quesidilla trying to get things moving, nothing seems to help. If you find a cure for antiobiotic caused bathroom issues I would love to hear them.
  • I tried everything last night
Milk of Mag with a Milk chaser Beans meat and tomatoes I even tried to dump off sugar Nothing worked
This morning I brought out the heavy artillery carbs fat and coffee
a real croissant and coffee with cream. . .within 20 minutes
I can now almost button my pants hopefully by the end of the day the bloat will go
and tomorrow back to complete protein land! which I will be making forays to today
  • Hey is this med for your belly button? What did the doctor say about your belly button? Antibiotics sure do work different on me; I get the scoots!!! Then I usually get the yeast........TMI Hope you are feeling better!
  • About my belly button or Union button as my gram would call it
She gave me Levaquin which is a respiratory drug as I has asmatic Bronchitis as well she said the belly button wasn't as bad as she thought it would be (wierd I know) It's gone now but If t comes back I now have Precedence!
  • she gave you LEVAQUIN for a skin infection probably due to yeast??????? oy vey!!!!! is it working???
  • She's not the brightest bulb my doc!
  • Well, Levaquin is used for all sorts of things: UTIs, skin infections, bronchitis, some types of pneumonia and anthrax.

And yeast infections are sadly, just secondary to the antibiotics knocking down your normal flora. They get me everytime I take an antibiotic.

Sorry to intrude here, I'm just browsing the forum. I see anything about medications and as a pharmacy student I feel obligated to read the thread. Maybe learn something. ;>

I, however, don't know anything about antibiotics post WLS.
  • I was on Levaquin recently for an infection and I did not have any problems with it.
