Default Don't get lax about your WATER !!

My daughter had wls 2 years ago. She just passed 2 kidney stones. The docter told her she wasn't drinking enough water. He told her he'd found that wls people were more likely to get kidney stones if they don't drink their water. My daughter admitted she hadn't been drinking as much. She can't seem to stay away from those mountain dews. She's had a very painful 3 weeks and learned a valuable lesson. So all you newbies pay attention. There's a reason everybody keeps stressing water!

I second this!! Water is very important, and I had the hardest time dropping the soda, but I did it (with the help of crystal light packets) and am now an avid water drinker!! I feel so much better!

water water water....I drink a lot of coffee and tea (not that good because the tannons *spelling* in them can contribute to kidney stones!) but I back it with watered down juice 6-1 and crystal light drinks. Nothing beats a nice glass of ice water though...it's the best!

it helps with water renention too!

Thanks for the reminder, Magi.

I'm in classes right now for the RNY surgery. It'll probably take place in Jan. We have to go to a class a month for this surgery. One of the things they stress is water.

I'll admit I'm the world's worst water drinker! I didn't like it before and still don't. Thanks for the reminder, guess I'll have a glass...

Regarding kidney stones--also, if you're taking calcium supplements, make sure they are calcium CITRATE, as calcium CARBONATE varieties may contribute to kidney stones.

Default I know exactly what you mean!!

I just had a very similar experience. Although they said he 2 stones I had were from the protein shakes. I admit though I could have been taking in more water. I was averaging about 40-50 ounces of water or crystal light per day. Which isn't terrible, but could be more. From the kidney stone I had I ended up in the hospital because my kidney got infected. I had to get IV fluids and antibiotics because I wasnt able to drink or eat anything because of vomiting and diahrea. Not a fun experience!!

DRINK WATER!!!!!!!!!!

enough said! lol
