Sorry for the delay in responding....
Here's a little background first. My wife is 29 years old with her BMI being at 50. She has asthma and sleep apnea. The biggest factor in her decision to have the surgery is that the doctors told her if she didn't get her weight in line within the next 10 years she would have to have both her knees replaced, and that was just the start. We've both tried dieting (I have been on every diet with her) and it works well for me but not her. She first started looking into the surgery about a year ago and we decided to move forward with it about 6 months ago. (We had to plan around life)
So Tuesday my wife had her surgery. (She got the lap-band.) The surgery went well, the only hitch was that her doctor got sick Monday and her partner did the surgery. Her biggest complaint has been gas pain. They have her on a full liquid diet right now. (Which she doesn't seem to mind. I think I am having a harder time than she is with it. I worry about her getting what she needs. But we are doing what the Doctor and Dietician told us to do.) Yesterday, she seemed to have a little more pain from the surgery itself, but nothing that you wouldn't expect. She is in good spirits, and has told me that she is glad she got the surgery.
I've passed the link to this site on to her... maybe she'll stop by.

Thanks for the up-date on you DW. Hope the gas pains go away real quick. We would be glad to have her. Great support and resources here.
