I was just reading a bit more from my Dr.'s website, mostly the testimonials, and began to get excited...my surgery is only 7 weeks away!
I have been sitting on myself, not allowing myself to believe it all just yet because of the long and drawn out process I have gone through to get the surgery paid for. More then a few times, I was psyched and ready to go only to hear... "I'm sorry, your insurance doesn't cover this." or "I'm sorry, you aren't sick enough" or "Oh, I see you qualify but now you will have to do a six month supervised diet." etc., etc.
I started to look into the surgery in 2004, more then 3 years ago, and I just couldn't believe that I have going to have a heart attack or be insulin dependent before they would think of covering me. It would be so much cheaper for me to correct my health problems surgically before they happened. DUH!
I kept after them...appealed, switched Dr.s, did my six months (sounds like a prison sentence doesn't it! LOL) but it was the fact that I began to develop diabetes 2 that finally got the ins. company's attention.
November 20th, they said yes and my Dr. set the date February. 4th.
Now, I am starting to get excited....
Ok, someone pinch me...it can't really be 7 weeks away?
